Here's the thing, ging:
Fuck YOU, not us.
You want to be a an asshole, or be an attention whore, or be pompous and difficult and throw everything we've ever said back in our face, well, you can go ahead and do that. What you can't do is turn around and be like WHY I NEVER when you stumble onto SB for affirmation of your existence for the fifteenth time this week and watch as we, understandably, don't really give a fuck anymore.
Shit or get off the pot, ging.
If I am telling you this, you probably need to wake the fuck up. |

There's a difference between making a joke and kicking someone while they're down. |
It's only a joke when you say it, right? |
Well, my problem isn't that people are making jokes, they're just being dicks! Without even bothering to be funny about it, even!
Not that making it into a joke makes it okay... It's just, you know, there's a line. It's a matter of whether or not you're being spiteful. _________________

I relate to Ging on a certain level because I was similar to him before I left home to go to college/went on meds/had some sobering experiences, but I don't care for threads like these. They're not fair. It may be a tight-knit forum, but we don't know your situation or have contact with you in real life so posts like these are an unfair burden for those who are sympathetic or a nuisance to those who are not. And they're essentially off-topic for everyone but you (e/n). Ging, I actually care about how you turn out because I think you'll be super awesome once you get some perspective/control over your life, and you can talk to me about these things over AIM. The forum, however, isn't the appropriate venue.
Some of the people in the thread are giving you tough love, Ging, but they're right. Get a job/go to school, get out, and get some therapy. You don't have to feel the way that you do or be in the situation you're in, at least not in the same way that Tsutsis were trapped in their situation during the genocide.
Everyone has their problems and I'm not saying that you can't be upset about your cat or what your mom says to you but keep it in perspective. You're as upset as you perceive necessary in the given situation; the /degree/ to which you are upset is under your control. Part of the issue is that you are trapped at home when it's about time for you to expand your life beyond your immediate family and its walls. You are in sort of a family crisis, but it's something that will not end your family or derail your life in the bigger picture of where you'll be and what you'll be doing in even 2-5 years. |

Yeah, I mean, I didn't really want to weigh in here, as I'm somewhat guilty of mixing the personal life with the forums, but damn, man. Man up.
You're not going to find what you need here, for a variety of reasons, but chief among them is that everyone here has problems, and unless you're friends in real life / through other venues, there's not much of an opportunity to catch more than a superficial glance of people's lives. For instance, someone who's mother (died when they were young / robbed a bank / beat them etc) .. they're not going to feel much sympathy for an isolated fight about a dead housecat. It's hard to say what we've all been through, and I don't want to discourage you from being real here, but this is not the proper time or venue for it, especially regarding your conduct and personal demeanor towards others.
Your school probably has counsellors, if indeed you are in school. If not, there are always other options to explore. _________________

Comedy forgives all; God is Levity.
The only problem is, as the subject matter becomes more heartbreaking it becomes exponentially harder to make your comment actually funny. But if you can do it, it's always appropriate. _________________ Let's Play, starring me. |

I don't think the problem is bringing your personal problems to the forum, but rather doing NOTHING but bringing your personal problems to the board. And doing so in a melodramatic, exaggerated fashion.
Ging, you clearly need human friends if losing a cat fucked you up so much (as a bonus, humans live 5 times as long as cats!). When Patsy posted about being socially awkward we helped him become a nicer, more likable person. The difference is that Patsy asked for help, while you ask for attention, which doesn't improve your situation in the long run. |

Heh, that takes me back. Most teenagers where I come from give kava a shot along with grass and the like ... can you buy it outside of Oceania these days then ?
OP : Sorry about the cat, mate.
