|
|
and once again, it is time to celebrate all things SQEX. Grab that copy of [title] that you have been hidin' away for years, now it's time to play that sucker (and realise that, indeed, it was a good decision to hide it away).
And as the "finally final" implies, for the last time!
… Maybe. Probably final though!
Even if the IIIrd strike is still around, nobody can remember what happened last time, since the axe pruned that properly. Fear not, you didn't miss much, since
- I've spotted Front Mission Evolved in a shop
- someone rocked through FF1 & 2
- glasses where clinked in a bavarian restaurant with Thailanders
- some drakengard sample-ripping took place (with typo, left intact for a year now)
- BA was finished
- a car was bought
- and some tactics ogre and twewy'ing took place.
Sounds better than it actually was? Hell yeah.
Inspired by the quite awesome FF7-replay of a fellow SBer, nothing could sum up the spirit of this week better than the following quote:
| Quote: |
| … WHEN WE LAST LEFT, AERIS/AERITH/ALICE/WHATEVER WAS FUCKING DEAD. |
→ I'd love to request a follow up on that topic/replay at this point!
In any case, get scratchin' and do something SQEX-related. Whatever that is, be sure to share!
Alas:
sto- ahem, inspired by …

no modifications or retouching necessary, I absolutely love that cam. _________________

Technically you wouldn't be allowed to play anything recent except FF[huge number], so yeah, go ahead and play whatever you want. Have fun! Share the fun stuff and it's a go-go.

This I'd love to see. If you would do so, you're welcome!
As teased before, I'm finally, after all those years, playing Chrono Cross. And since I've recently discovered the manual settings of my mobilephone-cam, I'll fuck up all the retro-shots like I did in that teaser-vid.
I absolutely have to get some more time with CC, but if there is one thing I can already say, it is the fact that I can appreciate some small things in this game that I wouldn't have noticed, back when I tried playing it the first time in … uh, 2004ish or so. _________________

Nah, there are no "strict" rules, so go and have fun.

well, this applies at least for me, but:
I kind of got rid of my SQEX-stockpile over the last five years thanks to this week. Obviously you can't finish every game started in a week (well, technically I did finish one disc of Dewprism on a Sunday, but that was… a once-in-a-lifetime-experience, won't do that again), but it is a good chance to finally have a go at [game X] you never played before, since better games have prevented you from doing so. And when you are having a good time, you might even finish these games.
In the case of CC, this might be pretty much one of the last "classic" SQEX-games I might play for a while, so there's some bonus-incentive there.

I feared that I might loathe CC because I've seen and played many a JRPG by now, but so far I feel pretty good about it (actually, a bit better than expected). I'll talk about this when I have more experience with the game. (The lacking newer titles actually might make this game better (than it should be, one could argue), but that remains to be seen. _________________

woah, picture isn't resized.
Anyway,
This is kinda the essence of my love/hate relationship with SQEX-games for me, in one text box. I'll (maybe) write a bit more about this later (which kinda is indicative of SQEX-games as well, always promising "later later, really!", huh!) … _________________

So, last day is approaching. Time to document progress in CC before wrapping this week up then, heh! _________________

Alas, I start the final contribution to this week with a thing I wanted to do for some months now:
A dub that is annoying as hell, about 40% spent in the camp-menu, blurry picture quality, surprising twist at the end - and what a waste of time. Turned out better than expected!
Enjoy my first (and final?) "Let's Play"-embed. _________________

re CC:
Thanks geezer, I know.
My party currently features that pink-ish dog (Hasso), a wrestler (Hombre), a happy-go-lucky voodoo doll (Klaus), that faux-german-speaking Scientist Lady (Ruise), the odd musician (not sure what I named him, but I won't use him anyway) and the inevitable girlfriend-from-another-dimension (Yuunaa).
I hope the game can keep the pace, about 10 hours in and I returned to Mr. Vipers mansion to rob everything I can get my hands on, despite having no clue where the game wants to go (yet). Even though I tried to get rid of radical thief-girl (Susi), it seems I am forced to tag along (since she'll surely survive being wounded, maa~aan). Oh well … _________________
