I played the PS3 version for 5 minutes, at which point I stopped playing because of the framerate, which is something I don't think I've ever done. it gave me issues with linking my PSN and SE accounts yesterday and registering the beta service, but it went fine this morning. at which point, 1.6 GB update

chilling on my womanly gladiator Saphin Amelot, yell at me if you want stuff tanked (especially now that I took the time to read the skill descriptions and figure out something resembling a way to keep aggro)

I would heal and DPS on console/gamepad, but I wouldn't tank because I like to tab-switch group targets constantly and the d-pad targeting+confirmation of target thing would drive me mad

also, I grabbed 3 skills from other classes and I'm pretty sure I would be out of buttons now and I'll be damned if I'm gonna put the effort into making macros

I just tried to add you all, but the game keeps telling me it cannot locate the characters. Please don't tell me you have to be online to receive a friend's request? Or am I doing something wrong? I use the full name, for example Sigmund Cheevos for bza's character and Bobota Bota for BotageL's character.

Had a really negative experience with the first dungeon. We started and lost one of the damage classes. Someone new comes in and starts rushing the dungeon. This makes it very difficult for me to keep aggro. Asked her to slow down.

DPS: "I'm at work, so hurry please."

ME: Wait. How/why are you playing at work?

DPS: "Maybe we can just play this dungeon, and you can stop being a douche"

neither other member said anything.

At that point, I tried to look for an option to kick her, but couldn't find one, even though I was the party leader. While doing this she runs forward and begins attacking the other enemies. I felt pretty frustrated and logged out, but then found that this didn't disband the party. So now I was actually a douche. I logged back in and left the duty, but then wasn't allowed to join new ones for 20 minutes.

Was I being a jerk here? I don't want to rush the dungeon, so I'm a douche?

I guess this is standard fare in MMOs but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

I wouldn't worry about it. just remember: there's a reason the queue for DPS is forever and a day and the wait for tanks and healers is nigh instant. you're needed and should set the pace and DPS is dime a dozen.

also remember that the game went open beta for everyone today, as opposed to yesterday, which was previous beta phases only. you'll be running up against some of the WoW playerbase and they have been conditioned, by and large, to rush through stuff because dungeons there are for exp and gear

worst comes to worst, warn 'em that if they're pulling that you'll let them tank stuff. kissing the ground because they're out of line tends to shut people up.

edit: also, I think the linkshell is at the point where we can do our own damn runs, with blackjack and hookers, so fuck randoms, party with slectbros and ladies and the selectbros playing as ladies

I didn't notice any differences, but I healed during phase 3 and tanked during this phase. the slime boss in the Copperbell Mines is easier, though. but just by a tiny bit.

I could give a comparison, but I'm currently being cockblocked by the login errors that started up last night, so

well, I'm in, for at least a month. I'm willing to gamble 24 bucks on the game being good for that long/being able to log in at some future point (hey, at least I can still go on the Japanese servers for the rest of open beta... all 9 hours left). I did like how they manage to put up new NA servers in the midst of off the error bomb going off and how I can't go to those because errors.

also, I could have sworn that I read about an item you get every month that lets you race/gender/appearance change, but I can't find anything about it and I think I might have been thinking of another game. so, if anyone knows about that, let me know.
