no, you keep rested exp, otherwise it would never accumulate while you're online. you should also have a ton if you logged off at the end of phase 4 in a town. hell, I did 4 levels before server went down and I still have rested exp

So of course that maintenance didn't fix the duty finder, but then early morning they decided to do yet another maintenance to 'fix' it, which we got to take with a grain of salt.
Did that maintenance fix it? I don't know. I went to bed, and woke up to error 90000 and error 12101, you know, the ones they were supposed to have fixed 3 maintenances ago.
Right now, there's yet another maintenance. _________________ I'm on Steam! ----- I'm on Youtube!

I was on around 7 and instances/duties were working for me, at least. saw someone in chat was getting the black screen though.
got my job, but I don't know if the extra 100 or so HP I get from my Paladin stone is worth having to drop all the avoidance cooldowns I could crossclass as a gladiator at the moment. maybe it'd be worth it if they gave the job's tank buff before the auto-attack buff (seriously though, a goddamn buff on auto-attacks. for a tank. I can't make a big enough >:l face to show how I feel about that.). _________________

Yeah, it was working fine this morning, though the servers just went down again.

I spent the past 20 minutes trying to login. The world is full. The world is full. I guess they're throttling the logins pretty hard. _________________

Same here. I got in a queue, and then booted from the queue by "server is full"
Good job on this one, square. |

Each beta's been dramatically more congested and buggy than the last. Launch is not going to be pretty. _________________

| Now they have the server limits so low that I can't even get a group going for Ifrit. UGH. |

At least you've been able to get in.
Maybe I should consider starting over on a less-crowded server. With GAF and 4chan pounding Ultros, there's no way I'm ever getting in. Like BotageL said, it'll only get worse with launch. _________________

It's ALL the US servers that are being hammered, from what I've seen. Japan's more steady due to smaller demand and it being, like, the middle of the night there. _________________

I'd just like to be That Guy here and say that, while this is inexcusable and people should rightly be pissed, it does point to the game having a healthy population in the short term and that I've seen worse. I remember Aion's early access had server queues lasting literally hours. queues were thousands of players deep. while it's unfortunate that they've routed simple progression through the servers that are dying slow deaths, I bet there's a small feeling that this is a kind of problem they wanted.
also, we're all addicts and we're angry about not getting our fix. c'mon Yoshida, you know I'm good for it, you can just let me pass the lines for a quick hit _________________

| Oh yeah, I am not super pissed, just a little frustrated, especially since their solution to the population being high causing problems yesterday wasn't to fix the problems, it was to lower the max server population to stupidly small levels. This is not a good approach, squeenix. |

It is a little frustrating that they seem to have the same number of servers that we do, yet a much smaller population. _________________

apparently, there's a burgeoning NA/EU refuge population on the JP server Ixion
I only know this because I already had a character there from 3102bomb during phase 4
edit: I would just like to say that I realized that going to their servers is kind of a dick move because people are dumb and will overflow and apparently one of the JP legacy servers has a bunch of NA?EU players being jackasses
you know. be respectful. _________________

Yeah, that's definitely a situation I don't want to be a part of.
I don't mind playing with Japanese players, though! I read Japanese blogs on the Lodestone and most of them are, "Nice to meet everyone! Let's all have a fun!"
I'm actually bummed that I haven't found the hotkey to switch to Japanese text input for the PS3 version. In B3 it was `, and now I can't find it at all. There's no listing for it in the keybind either. _________________

dumb question, but did they ever devise a fix if you didn't get Guildhests unlocked? I would very much like all that easy XP for little to no work. _________________

| Actually, that is nice of them to put that out there publicly, instead of suing people over it later and such. Yeah, it's a bit restrictive, but shit, at least people know what they are working with before getting a C&D letter. |

1. I am dumb and missed the questgiver for guildhests and thanks to miaou for pointing me in the right direction. looks like I've got a bunch of stuff to do for whatever next class I take
2. I am digging the boss and general design of the dungeons. I'm sure the linkshell heard me talking about the last boss of Sunken Temple (Olmec summons lasers) and the bees (NOT THE BEES), but all of the encounters are at least trying to veer away from simple tank and spank and "don't stand in the fire" _________________

ehhh....
they're probably harder now since we're still on that first initial wave and the groups I've been in have had to figure things out on the fly. they're definitely trickier than some encounters in other MMOs. it's mostly hilarious seeing 3 lasers make a triangle around you and having to make the adjustments while also keeping up with killing the boss. once people figure things out and start doing alts/secondary jobs, then stuff will be easy and the rage shall flow freely _________________

I'm starting to strongly resent the people who are logging in and never logging out, even if they go AFK for hours or days. Could they not have programmed a timer?
Kind of want them to go into maintenance just to refresh the board. _________________

i should probably consider square's garbage fucking site and useless password reset/account recovery functions as a sign that i should just not even bother with this game. what a joke. _________________

I felt so bad for you! Hope to make a mess of Halitali with you later.
While crafting, I realized the game will give you lots of extra XP just for trying to make a High-Quality item, even if you're not successful. So taking your time to make stuff might end up resulting in more EXP.
Really wish bronze ingots did not require two copper ore. I run out so fast. _________________

I've been playing on Ultros since the 26th, without problems. No errors, only seconds of waiting time when the server is full, no lag at all. I have a 100Mbit connection; however, I'm on the old continent and Ultros is in NA. Maybe it's because I'm playing from midday to evening GMT+1. If you guys play during that time too then I don't know!
I put my name here and you can always say hi but I don't know how MMOs work, so I might not do the right things and make everything awkward. Okay sorry. |

So is there a list of who is playing where? I finally managed to log into Ultros, made it to lv4 before I suddenly wasn't able to turn in any quests.
Arcanist Shorty Rock, holla if you hear me.

so I'm sure peeps in the linkshell have heard me bitching about lag spikes
turns out a bunch of people in VA with Fios are having the same issue, so I can either pay for a VPN or wait until Verizon and/or SE get their shit together
it was going so well too _________________

I had some weird spikes fighting Ifrit where I immediately ran out of the AoE zone and maybe another 10 yards or so but still got hit :(

That is a complaint I have with most of those forecasted AoE attacks. I can be well out of the way, but I still get hit. Seems unless I move the very moment it appears, I'm getting hit, no matter how far away I run. _________________

I don't take many photos, but while I was sitting around I realized how beautiful I find my character as well as how much I like her. Also note how big my current Grimoire is, compared to the first ones you get. It looks really cool.

Nice shots, geinou.
My PS3 copy arrived, and I cannot figure out how or where to register my code. Square has at least three different websites where it looks like this could be done. This couldn't be more difficult. _________________
