SO yea, my company finally banked on its promise to take everyone to Japan, well Nagoya anyway, for some huge restaurant complex opening my companies president is doing, but fuck that, I'm going to be in Tokyo mostly. I'm heading over from the 15th-22nd.
So, oh travelers and denizens of Japan, wheres some interesting place to go/shop in Tokyo. Whats the best Arcade to see, where some no too expensive but cool places to game/clothes shop, yah and eat.
Also, hi Tim. |

The food's better in Nagoya, better thrift shopping as well, also the people of Nagoya won't treat you like a beastman just come in wild and slobbering from the woods. Not much of a video game scene, though, and as like 200% of the people that come to Japan come for that I suppose Nagoya won't hold your fancy. I mean, its not like Nagoya has THE MECCA OF GAMERS or anything like that :(
What restaurant/where is your company opening? When you are in Nagoya, take an afternoon-plus and check out Oosu Kannon. Basically a giant 5 city-block thrift mall, particularly on Sundays where the temple lets homeless people/gangsters set up shop with the wierdest shit. I haggled a working great condition zippo lighter there from the 1950s, a (non-working) Grolsch neon sign, as well as the lewdest tanooki statue I've ever seen, all for like 1200 yen. Also, if you've got some nights here, I know of a few smart hole-in-the-wall bars that should suit any fancy, as well as some foreigner powerhouse bars where you can make a lot of friends/get laid. Also, while you probably won't have time/energy for this, Aichi is right next door to Gifu, which is pretty much heaven on earth. And Nagoyajou heckling is great with some buds and some beers. |

You got my sofa dog.
The fee is: a bunch of cheap used shirts. I'll trust your taste. Maybe even, hell, pay for them.
Also if you can happen into Wasteland or wherever and find a nice leather jacket of any color (size 38), I'd pay for that.
Email me ASAP homeslice. _________________

The jacket is totally do-able, shirts a bit less so, considering getting them cheap in LA is rather ridiculous, though there maybe some good trades i can dig out of my closet.
I'll be half in Tokyo, half in Nagoya, so thanks luckystrike for the info. I figured I'd find plenty to do in Tokyo and be fairly bored in Nagoya, but some of those spots sound intriguing.
This is apparently the restaurant/building the pres is opening: http://sgg-nishiki.jp/
Some native speakers could probably tell me more about it than I currently know. |

well keep in mind that "cheap", to me, is like around $20. i like button-down shirts with a flagrant collar!
jacket, though, yeah -- i need me a jacket.
also, my girl runs a couple shops in nagoya. _________________
