The most iconic character, yes. Because rarely does an entire video game cast overlap between crossovers, so using just one character in both titles is a more accurate connection.

Hey, if DOA gets into the mix then we are just a hair away from a Halo connection! It's too bad the SPARTAN in DOA4 never appears in a proper Halo game. I guess we can always hope for a future in-joke.

Does Will Wright appear as himself in anything other than The Simpsons Game? I am hesitant to consider him the same character as Mr. Wright.

EDIT: He does appear as himself in The Sims: Makin' Magic! That puts not only The Simpsons Game on the list, but the Futurama video game through Zoidberg and Bender's appearances in that game as well. Also, the Judeo-Christian GOD.

I was actually just looking at Super Meat Boy. Unfortunately Half-Life doesn't seem to cross over with much else, unless I'm overlooking something.

Yeah, I was actually about to bring that up. Allowing monsters and creatures as connectors open up a huge can of worms (ie. why not connect all games that have a cat in it?). This new mandate is definitely for the better.
