Don't have to tell us, we blame toups for everything, including when buses are, we are late for work, etc. The only thing we don't blame toups for is late periods because we know he couldn' haf dunnit
I have so many episodes yet to listen to and that's great (^.^)b |

I'm probably just asking to get the piss taken out of me, but re: "videogame articles changing lives," stumbling upon Tim's stuff way back on Insert Credit was a pretty big part of my formative late-teen years. Those articles did a lot towards shaping how I would view and critique games.
That bottom line someone said in the lightning round of "a game where you click to walk" probably says a lot more than was intended (?). That kind of movement mechanic is what bugs me about Diablo-types (though I guess it doesn't bug me as much in older CRPGs). |

| click to walk is fine, but I think it works better for action-y games where fine tuning the movement is important (see: DOTA, ideally Diablo types, RTS games in a slightly different sense). third person controls simply aren't precise enough in any other format. but I would like to see games like Diablo adopt more DOTA-ish abilities that take advantage of the mouse controls. |

Right now you are listening to what will eventually be called the "early days" of the insert credit podcast, where I am in Florida and everyone else is in California. When I make it to the west coast, we'll all be recording together and, in doing so, vanquish the only obstacle in our way to podcasting legend. _________________

| with an $1,100 setup you can do the one-minute pee break. that means if you want to be on the show itself, you're going to need to spend $66,000. |

Yeah...I don't get why people wouldn't like Vito.
Listening now.
Re: Cifaldi's Mario level builder game thing:
You've gotta have some sort of limit on resources or an intuitive set of rules that stop you from making impossible jumps or covering everything with spikes. Actually, that would probably end up being the Nintendo design genius of the game: how do you intuitively convey to a child the fairness required to design a Mario level? Sure, you could just not let the player place three beds of spikes in a row, and they would eventually learn the rules by trial and error. But is there a clever Nintendo-y hand-holdy way to lead the player to understanding these rules without a tutorial or instructions? _________________ "Godzilla could be anyone."

Never played any Tower Defense games, so I don't know if that's directed at me or Cifaldi.
I was thinking of Dark Deception while he was talking, though. Still haven't played Dark Deception, though my brother loves it. _________________ "Godzilla could be anyone."

| It's just that I've heard a lot of people go, 'What if you played game X, but, get this, you try to kill the main character!?' and, dog, that's just tower defense. |

I also came here to say that my iphone has decided to select some new artwork for the podcast:
(actual phone screenshot, no photoshopping afoot)
(the artwork isn't showing up at all in itunes, i suspect the subscription link may have gone wonky) _________________
