hating on people for being excited for Borderlands 2 is like hating on people for being excited about the Avengers. sure, i guess you could bitch about it, but why bother? it's hardly a sign of the degeneracy of our medium. _________________ -pat m.

yeah insertcredit keeps getting owned by malware. it is a sad.
also i haven't finished listening to this episode of the podcast yet, but: Arcade Infinity was actually not one of the powerhouses for fighting games until relatively recently (SFIV, really). The traditional SoCal Throne of Power was in Southern Hills Golfland, until that closed down, and then Family Fun Arcade during the 3s era. Super Arcade was kind of a toss-up; on one hand, they almost always got new games (Capcom Fighting Jam!!!) but they were known for taking less-than-stellar care of their gear.
AI was mostly known for staying up-to-date on rhythm games (beatmania, guitar freaks/drummania, DDR, Pop'N Music, even Para Para) and judging from the clientele I'm pretty sure Initial D probably kept them in business for a while.
My sophomore year roommate bought some car parts, a Pop'N PS2 controller (custom built, that thing is a tank, if anyone wants it it's in NorCal), and a Corgi named Mr. Nubs from different people who worked there. _________________ -pat m.

This podcast is a great game of $25,000 Pyramid. I love this podcast. |
Tim, Brandon, and Frank are remarkably low-profanity folks, which was something I was kind of surprised to learn.
Also, it takes a while to learn how to interject your way into a Tim/Brandon conversation (IIRC, Frank either takes the lead right away or comes in after Tim and Brandon have finished their initial verbal diarrhea). This is true in real life, as well. _________________ -pat m.

Yeah, it normally takes about...a year? _________________ -pat m.

| I'm getting more bad crap on the insert credit website. I'm pretty sure it was the thing that fucked my laptop up a few weeks ago, which I still haven't cleaned up completely cos I don't know how cos I'm stupid but I went on to check for a new episode just now and was getting all these obviously bogus java requests and then notices that the website was unsafe. I mentioned it a few weeks ago and nobody replied, so I just thought I'd let you guys know it is an issue. I like to listen to games talk, I want to continue listening to some gabbing. |
yeah i don't know why but i think ic keeps on getting hammered by the same stupid wordpress vulnerability which lets some assholes put nasty javascripts in the fucking header. so brandon goes in and strips it out and updates everything but then it gets pwned again. _________________ -pat m.

my own personal experience with hallucinogens is that i find very engaging stimuli to be distinctly uncomfortable. i listened to the hotline miami soundtrack while on shrooms and it felt like someone was taking a rake to my eardrums (and i listen to it all the time in more-sober states of mind). i spent most of that trip staring at a white wall that had a map of southeast asia and a Swords & Sworcery poster on it. _________________ -pat m.

out of context, it sounds pretty dick. buuuuut frank has gone out of his way on facebook and twitter to be like, "i am no longer with gamasutra, but don't worry, i'm going to be just fine, really, it's okay, don't pity me", so whatever _________________ -pat m.
