re: SCEA - dude, you're preaching to the choir here. Nobody likes the fact that SCEA are anal douchebags about the 2D stuff they allow on the PS2 in the US, but that really doesn't have anything to do with IGA not having the budget for a big fancy console version of the game. _________________

A 2D fighter? On my Nintendo console?
They better be releasing this with a stick or at least make a stick avaliable _________________

The news was kind of debunked:
| Quote: |
Earlier today, we reported on a GameFly listing that suggests Aksys Games is planning to release Guilty Gear XX Accent Core for the Nintendo Wii. We contacted Aksys PR rep Gail Salamanca for the official word, and she very kindly (and quickly) debunked the rumor with the following statement:
I’m not sure where GameFly got their information from, but we don’t have any plans at this time to release a GG game on Wii or any other system at this time.
We’ll definitely keep you in the loop as to what our new games are.
|
That doesn't mean that say, Majesco or SegaSammy isn't releasing it on the Wii though. |

Japan's finally admitted to the existence of Odin Sphere. You guys who saw it at E3 last year can talk about it now I think. _________________

My brain parsed that as "the Odin Sphere". I am picturing a huge golemlike mech rising out of an underground complex in Okinawa, lightning crackling all over it. |

No, we can't. Not until OTHER COMPANY admits they're working on it. |

| An upcoming PS2 JRPG by Atlus. That scan doesn't really contain any more substantial information. |

Haven't you guys been paying attention? It's related to the 2D semi-demi-maybe-cult classic Princess Crown (see some videos here), and is apparently either a sequel or prequel.
Here's a promo vid for OS, yanked from NeoGAF:

Emily Short posts some comments on Raph Koster's A Theory of Fun for Game Design. Mostly comments on how it applies to IF, but a lot of it's interesting and relevant even if you don't care about text adventures. She talks about the book's contents, political games, and flOw, among other things. _________________ JSNLV is frequently and intentionally wrong. |

I had a cease and desist requested of me after putting up a few impressions on "game which doesn't exist and I still am not saying exists." I have one image and one really bad video of the "game which exists not." I'll email the OTHER company to see if I can finally talk about this after like, what eight months? _________________

I think I was (at least part of) the reason why Eidos decided to start requiring NDAs for focus groups. Within an hour of getting my $50 for playing Deus Ex 2 I was bashing it on gamefaqs. _________________

Did anyone who had played the original DX1 break down crying while trying DX2? I probably would have. _________________

Well, this whole Odin Sphere business is somewhat ok to talk about I guess. This reminded me to check the developer of Princess Crown's website when I got home (where I am now) and it's updated... just not in the manner that I thought it would be:

Looks like they bedded with NIS not Atlus?! Shock and awe folks!
My middle name is Michael Christopher. The first forum I signed up for someone had taken Shaper, so I was like "DAMN... i'll just tack on my middle initials." That said, I use to spin at parties in college. I still have my turntables and mixer, I just never use them. _________________

This is really awesome! I have the Saturn version and tried to play it once and was just completly overwhelmed. Anyways, I remeber at the time that everyone, even the folks from JunkerHQ, were always saying "Policenauts won't ever be translated, but if you want to help here's a script dump and my email address!" _________________

Well this is neat. Guitar Hero is apparently coming to the Wii. I wonder if they'll be making a controller extension for it. Then again, the quote could also be interpreted that it's coming to the DS. That would be sorta of weird, though. Maybe this is why Harmonix isn't working on GH3. They're working on GHWii.

Shaper, do you like to bust a fresh set when nobody's lookin'?
Also, is there a place of discussion for Coke's GTA-ripoff ad and the social ramifications/implications thereof? _________________ Illustration Portfolio | The Gamer's Quarter |

No?
And, that commercial is kind of old... why is it only getting noticed recently? _________________

Until the Super Bowl, the only time I ever saw it was before movie trailers. |

Yeah. Shaper, you know I don't watch television; a coworker pointed it out to me today at work. I don't know what any commercials are like. It's blissful. _________________ Illustration Portfolio | The Gamer's Quarter |

Well, that makes sense. The only reason I had seen it was because Wes showed it to me. But he showed it too me a month or so earlier and made it seem like it'd been out for a while.
I watch, at most, 2 hours of TV a week, and it's usually because my wife has forced me to. My last 6 months in New Orleans I watched a collective 6 hours of TV (one hour a month while visiting my wife in St. Louis). I want my no-TV back. _________________
