Whatshisface from 3D Realms said it's an actual scrennshot from the current build. A picture of Duke in a random corridor. It's using the new Unreal engine. It's from a commercial 3D Realms posted around some sites, advertising positions.
Yes, lots of people have accused them of just taking picture of an action figure. |

| tunzafun is like intencity, you know those arcades with old games (although they have some newer ones in now) and those ticket dispensing prize machines. we got like 20,000 right now, which is almost enough for a wii. there are a couple machines we know how to cheat so yes... |

| i dont care what it looks like, as long as they take out bottomless pits, a pointless world map, crappy dailouge and unfluid boss fights. |

| ok fine, way less bottomless pits. i never really noticed the ones in the first four sonic games because they weren't placed ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE. they also felt like they were more strategically placed as to not infuriate the player in the first games. they made it feel like it was your fault that you fell in there, rather than crappy level design. |

PA seem to have been pandering to idiots for a long time now. Like someone said, it's like they base their comics on the opinions in (the worst possible) forums. Like, the main reason I stopped reading is because some big ruckus would be generated on the internet by angry internet nerds, like Battlefield 20whatever featuring in-game advertising, and they ran with the (completely inaccurate) assumption of what it would be like, basically forthing at the mouth like all the angry internet nerds who read the comic, only to discover later that they didn't get any facts right.
It's a little ironic actually, I remember Gabe telling a story about meeting a newspaper comic artist who said his job was to piss people off, but all his real ones (which WOULD piss people off) were stuck in a drawer, and the only ones that were printed reflected public (ignorant) opinion, basically saying what people wanted to here. That's exactly how I see PA these days. Reading it makes me feel like I'm supposed to be a rampant idiot who sits at his computer all day bitching about games.
I'm not.
I'm a person who sits at his computer bitching about webcomics he doesn't read anymore. |

I.. disagree and stand by my initial comments! I simply can't read it anymore and not think it's not aimed at morons.
Oh, they also haven't been funny in like three years. That's another reason I stopped reading. |

| I always found it incredibly medicore. I mean, I was never fond of these Arena style of games to begin with, but even still. Nothing about UT grabbed me, and too many things annoyed me. The original Unreal was alright, though, could have been shorter. A little too much filler. |

I was at my local EB, which is actually run by some pretty cool dudes, but I still don't shop there often unless they have a sale, but ANYWAY, we were asking about the cheap PS2 bundles, and apparently they were ending the next week, because Sony have put an end to people dropping the price of PS2s and doing special bundles, because the everyone has been buying PS2s instead of PS3s. In fact, sales of PS2s shot up after the third came out, thanks to all the price drops and stuff on the previous console.
One store even has a payment plan for the PS3, instead of paying the whole $1000, you can pay 8.95 over... how ever many weeks it would take to pay for it.
And the PAL version doesn't even have the emotion engine, one of the few current selling points for the PS3.
That was poorly written!
Anyway, point is, Sony is retarded and they are fucked down here if they don't get their shit together. |

Freeverse want to bring the other Marathon games to XBLA, but Bungie will allow let them do it if Marathon 2 sales meet expectations.
So go buy it, so you can all then buy infinity which is an amazing game, ok! |

I'm also looking forward to Portal, Ito! High five!
Since when were games just about wish fulfillments? I'd love to play a game about my worst nightmare.
But seriously, I don't get what your big problem is here. Lots of my favourite games are like being a lab rat in a maze, with only illogical mechanics to work with! Loderunner, for example! |

Yeah, I've always thought that Portal looked like a kinda first person Lode Runner shindig, hence how much I look forward to it and the comparison! |

Godfather Wii was hilariously entertaining. The other versions were so boring compared to it.
Loved throwing people around!
Looking forward to Manhunt 2! |

so basically i'm going to be paying $22 au for games I can get for $10 elsewhere, that don't take up harddrive space or waste my bandwidth.
not really for me, I guess. i'd rather more original, interesting games on xbox live! or special re-releases, at least. |

I wrote about it ages ago!
I found it to be a very solid remake, which is a rare thing. The top screen is where the action is, and the bottom screen has the map and puzzle pieces, and playing with the puzzle pieces feels much more natural and fun with the stylus.
The new mode offers some very nice flashback style graphics and three characters (who play the same) and is all lovely and atmospheric - the core game remains the same. The C64 port is spot on for the most part, and the hybrid version is unusual but my favourite version of the game, funnily enough.
Features an easy mode and a save system! Only play it on easy if it's your first time through, though.
To be honest, I would have appreciated some new rooms and puzzle pieces for the remade version. I've played the game so much that I can speedrun it easily now, which is fine, but having more rooms and puzzle pieces on the remade version would have been an appreciated addition for people like me who would want a bit of a new experience.
There are a couple bugs and annoyances, but nothing serious.
So yeah, a very solid remake and port. It's also a perfect portable game. Plus, it's cheap (here anyway). |

I thought Bioshock was System Shock 2 but without the suck.
And a story/moral system that's watered down and wasted. |
