Well this is neat. Guitar Hero is apparently coming to the Wii. I wonder if they'll be making a controller extension for it. Then again, the quote could also be interpreted that it's coming to the DS. That would be sorta of weird, though. Maybe this is why Harmonix isn't working on GH3. They're working on GHWii.

| In case some people didn't know, Windows is getting the Live game service. As in, you have to buy a Live account to play games online. They have now announced the prices. It's the same account as Xbox Live, though, so if you already have one, you can use that. It's still no consolation to the fact that Microsoft now wants us to start paying to play games online on the PC. I'm not sure what games this Live service is going to affect, though, so maybe I'm complaining about nothing. |

It's probably going to be an ADV (Adventure?) game. You know, those games that show a picture of the person you're talking to and you read text about everything they're doing. Many anime get games of that nature. So I'll have to keep my interest low. :(
But if you can read Japanese and like ADV games, then you can keep going "fuck goddamnit yesness" while I scowl at you from behind your back. |

I don't really keep up with movies, so I've only heard of Reign Over Me in passing. This article is about how Shadow of the Colossus was specifically chosen to play an important role in the movie to compliment the story's themes. I don't know how good the movie is, but it's nice to see some people were putting this much thought into it. |

Apparently, Capcom is working on a project called Apollo Justice. That's all anyone really knows, but I just wanted to raise people's hopes (including mine) for a new Rival Schools game, only to have them smashed by the announcement of Phoenix Wright Goes to the Apollo.
:(
Question: Any news on KOF Maximum Impact 3? It's coming out for the 360 and PS3, right? |

I've always found the reviews really confounding. I was expecting the worst, but after finally getting the game, none of the reviews made sense to me. It seemed like their complaints were made up or something.
There is Live play, however barely anyone owns the game, so it's pretty barren. You'll mostly find a some Japanese players. It's really unfortunate blah blah no advertising yadda yada why Ubisoft why etc. |

| So I guess a new MGS4 trailer was just released. The player says it's called "TGS 08 Remix," which is sort of weird. The site says it looks a lot prettier than before, which is saying something, but I can't confirm it because the video won't load for me (it's probably getting hammered). But it claims a 2007 release date, so it will probably be out Spring 08. |

Guilty Gear: Accent Core is coming stateside! Apparently the publisher who hold the GG right now is Aksys. I've never heard of these guys! Fall is looking pretty good!
There's going to be a version for PS2 and the Wii. I wish they would release it for Xbox. I have a preference of using that system for my fighters for no discernible reason.
I wonder how the Wii version will play? Will they use the classic controller? Wonder if they'll fix those bugs that I heard about on the JP release. |
It will indeed have an option for the classic controller.
Apparently, Nintendo has announced announced WiiWare, a way for companies to make downloadable games from the Wii Shop. It's basically a Nintendo counterpart to Xbox Live Arcade. Nothing's coming out 'till 2008, though. |

Capcom seems to be working on a new 2D fighter that isn't a sequel. Nothing really to look at right now, but I suppose it's something to keep a lookout for. I am hoping that it is hi-res like SFIIHD and as animated as SFIII.

Other sites were saying the text in the teaser says it's an original property. So, uh, I don't know. Does the teaser really say that?
If that's true, however, then yay to Arc System Works not making a new GG and boo to no Sengoku Basara 3. |

So they're making a 3D action game as a prologue to the next installment of the fighting series? I guess, story-wise, they're going to try some a bit different so they need something to cover the gap. I get the distinct impressions it won't be too good, but it'll be interesting to see if they attempt to translate the fast-paced nature of the fighting game into a 3D brawler.
And Ky's got a really... different design. Either he's "gone bad" or the Holy Order has really changed their dress code. |

| Metal Gear Online for PS3. Says it's the online component of MGS3:S. I wonder if it's getting fleshed out, upgraded graphics, or just being ported to PSN. |

Whoa, that's actually pretty great for $50. I loved how WD included all sorts of extras with their games.
Which Growlanser is that, by the way? Is that a new one, or a port of an older one? |

All of the assassins so far are women. Maybe after Travis beats them they beome his allies, and the game slowly turns into a harem-anime romantic love comedy as Travis begins to live lives of his favorite anime characters? |

Gamecritics Brad Gallaway writes a very critical review of War Tech: Senko no Ronde

I've noticed that most negative reviews of SnR say the exact same things. Not just gameplay stuff that doesn't appeal to them (which is okay), but the comparisons to PS2 graphics and suggestions of an Xbox Live! Arcade release. It's sort of weird, actually. It's also sad that the two screenshots in that review are the only two screenshots of SnR 360 on the web. |

I saw this posted at another forum:
| Quote: |
Don't even get me started on the title.
It's due out (in arcades) in about 3-4 months. Brand new storyline. Larger stages, adding in guard crushes and "Full Moon Style — emphasize on power. Lengthened Shield, power accumulation, and circuit spark." And new characters Roa (villain of Tsukihime) and Ries (one of Sion's allies... currently in one of her Last Arcs).
Hopefully it won't take a year for it to make it to the consoles as Cadenza did. Smexy.

Is this Melty Blood 2? I thought it wasn't being announced until some DVD came out later this month? And why hasn't their English gotten any better? |

I've been seeing this around:
| Quote: |
ENGLISH OF THE DEAD (DS/Sega/spring '08)
* Action game where you defeat hordes of zombies with the power of English
* Zombies spew Japanese, and you write the English translation in on the touchscreen
* 6 stages
* Training, Auto Listening modes |
Confirmation would be nice, but it sounds golden regardless. |

Audiosurf is coming out on Friday February 15 for $10 on Steam. That's a really good price-point.
Edit: And it's $9 if you pre-order. Such an incredible deal. |

| Circuit City is having a special deal on Metal Gear Solid 4. It's $10 off, so it's $50 instead of $60, and you get a $10 gift card. So if you have anything else to buy at Circuit City, you sort of get $20 off. I guess. |

| Any word on how it turned out and what the US pricing is? I never got to play the original games, though I've been interested. I didn't find the demo long enough to give a good feel as to what it's like, though I sort of liked the very last part where you get the gun and a whole bunch of Shibito start running at you. They looked pretty good. |
