So, while this forum was in INTERNAL ERROR hell I blew my load on this news elsewhere:
Press from SNK
Art of Fighting Anthology
ACTUALLY GETTING RELEASED IN USA
Sony's letting it all go in the PS2's old age. |
While I appreciate the effort, Art of Fighting sucks ass. I'm really not trolling when I say that. I look at all the other stuff that got put out recently, and for that to be their choice to bring over seems baffling. |

Do you mean typical as in "damn, he sure is right"?
Seriously, unless you own a Japanese Wii and no PS2 (are there really a lot/any of us here in that situation?), why would you choose a Wii port of Accent Core over the PS2 release? Supposing you don't own a Japanese Wii - hardware wise it's harder to mod the system, more costly to mod, screws up your system more (WiiConnect 24 anyone?).
As for the actual game, the PS2 is virtually assured a flawless port if the past Arc games are a sign, and there are numerous excellent control options. Compare that to a best case scenario of an equally good technical-qualty Wii port (not an unrealistic scenario) with inferior controls even in the ideal situation. Are we banking on totally rad motion control party games crammed in there? A "thrust the Wiimote" gimmick to make your character jump? Give me a good reason. |
I'm going to guess Another God's thinking is that anyone that's at all interested in Guilty Gear already owns a PS2 so you're overargument of why the Wii version would suck is kind of unneeded or could be said of every fucking Wii game (but that's my own complaint.) |

dammit.
they'd better not do this when they decide to remake FFVI. I want next gen graphics that look exactly like the FMV that was added in FF Anthology (FFV and FFVI in one box). oh, and I don't want any of the game's mechanics changed at all. just cosmetic stuff.
and same with the FFVII remake for that matter. I think last I heard they were thinking of using the FFXII battle system. No. leave it unchanged please. |
I want all remakes to be exactly like I want them to if they are any different I will bitch and buy it anyway. |

Galaxy Force II: Special Extended Edition, is coming to Playstation 2!!!
I'd like to be the first to admit, I've never fucking heard of Galaxy Force II before.
Still this looks sweet.
They've got all the regular bases covered
Arcade version (Domestic)
Arcade version (Foreign)
Mega Drive/Genesis version
Master System version
but then they go the distance and include a new version of the arcade game with tweaked graphics.
It's like someones dream, and I have no idea who that person is, but somewhere some huge Galaxy Force II fan is so happy she/he is crying. I'm thinking I might get this, it's a 19 year old game getting a home port with slight graphic improvements. I think I might buy it. I feel like this should be supported. It's so random and dreamlike. |
I played the Genesis/Mega Drive version and it was so terrible I threw the cart away.
That's all I know about this series. |

I'm already confident that Third Strike isn't going anywhere as most hardcore Capcom fighting game fans' game of choice. IV seems like it should make for some idle fun, it's poised for mainstream success, and it at least puts some effort into being playable by competitive arcade standards. But frankly I get bored already just watching a video of a round with "new" announced characters. And I am the type of person who can watch fighting game tournament match footage for a good long while.
Dudley forever, by the way. |
Aye, Dudley forever.
The SF4 vids shown so far, remind me of a slowed down Max Impact. The producer did mention in a recent interview that they didn't want to lose their existing fanbase in the midst of trying to bring back those who abandoned the series though, so I would expect that Capcom won't let SF4 move towards MI levels of gameplay. |
The game is seriously just Street Fighter II 3D Hyper Mix. |

Isn't it going to be a downloadable PS3 title, about $8-$10? That was my understanding... |
and a UMD release, with more stuff in it.
if the PS3 one works over remote play i guess i'll probably get that, though i'm kindof unmoved by the demo. |
Not in Japan! It's 3999 yen for the PSP version at least. I think the same for the PS3 version!
And yeah no remote play! |

| BG&E was a really nice concept game that could go places. Which is why this possible sequel is nice, not because it had some great story or amazing characters or whatever. The story was bad. It had no subtlety to it at all. But it was a nice idea and the world was comfy and just small enough to seem kinda big without being boring. Mechanically, it was solid. Aesthetically, it was inviting. More or less the opposite of what most people try to do with games of that nature. |
Yes. The game was enjoyable and had a good soundtrack. So I find it nice that there is a sequel coming. Screaming it from the rooftops though? Not really my thing. I should have probably just said people are overreacting. Glad there's a sequel. I'm curious if the game would be better if it was fully completed. |
