Seems grosser than Saints Row IV (and III) to me.
And if a two-minute trailer is grosser than all the time I've put into those games _________________

I'm torn. I like that this game isn't afraid of feminazis but on the other hand it's a casualized ninja gaiden game. |

The premise for this game was to be goofy in the first place, nothing serious, so why would you watch it as if it was intended to be a blockbuster game or a genuine sequel to the Ninja Gaiden series? Just enjoy how damn stupid it is. |

You guys need to understand this game isn't meant to be taken seriously. In case it wasn't obvious, this game is being made with comedy in mind as opposed to serious edginess a la DmC. |

Fuck you ninja gaiden cock suckers! This will be the best ninja gaiden game in the series. Yaiba will DESTROY Hayabusa and you WILL like it! Change is good so #Deal with it. |

I was interested in yaiba because inafune's company was involved with it, and i still might play it, but now that will be happening definitely in a closet where no one i know will ever see me. _________________

"Speaking personally, at the height of the bubble, all the talk about 'games for moms' began to grate a bit," recalls Area/code's Cancienne. "After a while, it was hard for me not to hear 'but a middle-aged woman in Ohio won't understand that' as a dismissive, reductive, and small-minded excuse to dumb down gameplay and hew to established conventions."
In Cancienne's view, in fact, the laser-focus on an imagined, mass-market "moms and middle-aged women" demographic might have been where the Facebook boom began to waver: "You had a huge population of product managers, game designers, and developers making games that they themselves didn't like," he says.
"What's worse, they were supposedly making them for this cohort that existed as a cartoon -- the middle aged mom sitting at home, bored with her life," he adds. "Given this mostly male, mostly disinterested group of people cynically making games for this other group that existed primarily as a stereotype, it's not hard to see how the bubble burst." |

actually, yes, though the series started out pretty gross in its tone/portrayal of women, and even after the tone shifted significantly in the 3rd and 4th instalments, it remains really sophomoric (mostly in a good way) and I think people who haven't played it tend to confuse what they've heard as a result.
but hell, in Saints Row 4, if you play a female main character, I'd say well over half the dialogue in the game is your main character shooting the shit & yelling at shaundi + kinzie. it passes the bechdel test better than any game I've ever played (indie or otherwise) largely because they intentionally didn't give it a shit when they were developing it, which is also why you're able to "romance" any member of your crew with the same dialog regardless of your gender.
it's also finally a lot of fun to play compared to past instalments and I generally can't say enough good things about it. |

What is this utter nonsense. We're trying to pass these games off as the standard of nongrossness now? I'm fighting this absurd idea every step of the way god dammit. I played 3 and had to quit playing it and take a cold shower to wash the scum off. I'm pretty sure it was a videogame written by whatever former 90s wwf writers came up with val venis and the ho train guy. How anyone thinks any of these games are actually funny I don't know. 4 might be less offensive but it looks like they replaced the offensive material with jokes about the Matrix movies, what a riot. _________________

Hey guys remember when we said we weren't going to go around calling things gross anymore because it's incredibly lazy and reductive?
Personally, I don't mind video games starring sexist assholes. The disgusting thing about the Yaiba trailer to me is that they didn't even put any effort into making its sexist asshole cool or funny. The writing in that trailer is awful. The dialogue comes across as being misogynistic just for the sake of being misogynistic. |

I sort of figured the joke was supposed to be how absurdly loathsome and inarticulate he is. Or at least that's what I found funny about it, anyway. _________________ Just another savage day on Planet Earth. |

But that's not a very funny joke. It's certainly no HUGE GUTS RIP AND TEAR; he just sounds like a teenager on Xbox Live. I mean, "Take a suck"?
That video mostly just made me want to play a game about Miss Monday. |

I dunno I think making a protagonist of a commercial video game who talks and acts like a 12-year-old on Xbox Live is a pretty funny joke on some level, though I have no idea whether that's what these writers were actually going for or not
But like, what does "Take a suck" even mean? It's just bizarrely worded total nonsense that sounds vaguely obscene. Like a video game protagonist spouting horrible Youtube comments as one-liners. It's so terrible that, at least for me, it easily qualifies as camp. _________________ Just another savage day on Planet Earth. |

| What amazed me just as much as the epic humor was that we can still have a videogame trailer in 2013 be pretty much unending shots of some guy cutting up a bunch of baddies with fireworks of blood assisting each wicked sick murder |

Considering everything that has come out about Ghosts leading up to and since it's release and all the stuff about its supposed next-gen versions, I think being caught copy-pasting an older ending they did is the least of their problems
not that this helps or anything

The other night after I went to a late showing of 12 Years a Slave at the mall I passed by the CoD: Ghost midnight launch event they were having at Gamestop. There must've been half a middle school there. _________________ Just another savage day on Planet Earth. |
