We kind of do! Or at least one where you need a little converter box if you don't have the right kind of TV. |

Given the description, it makes sense. You're presumably an operative specifically called in to take down rampaging murderous cyborgs. Probably not a lot of means for peaceful resolution at that point.
The big issue is just what the kind of game it will be.
Taking a tactical approach and having you coordinate a squad of relatively ordinary folks against a singular, much more powerful target than yourselves is probably too much to hope for.
This also made me think Rainbow Six + Shadow of the Colossus. And then realize that concept could be the basis of the best Battletech video game no one will ever make, putting the player in an anti-mech infantry platoon. |

| The Mechwarrior 2d ed. manual had a story about just such a platoon as its opening prelude, and I still remember how completely awesome it was. They killed one mech by luring it into an industrial bakery and tricking it into falling into a massive vat of fat, and then setting it on fire. |
Yeah, I love that story. Generally I don't care about the BT fluff as far as novels about the major stuff are concerned, I get all I want or need from the sourcebooks, but the short stories can be a lot of fun. |

How could someone not love lines like ""Tis sport, indeed, to see the engineer hoisted on his own petard. And in Lawrence we made those mechs look petarded."?
And besides it was part of my introduction to BT, some 20 years ago my brother stopped by the house, and bestowed upon me some dice, a mapsheet, a painted Phoenix Hawk IIC mini, The Battletech Compendium, MW 2nd Edition, and TRO 3050. And thus it all began.

It really bugs me how little blood is on that woman. I do not buy that she sliced up ten people and just has a bit of blood on her corset and hand.
That cyber psychosis concept from the gamebook is also a hell of a stretch. Seems like a convenient way to make human-shaped monsters. I just hope that this game takes the V:TM Bloodlines path of improving upon the source material. |
Yeah, that got to me too. The sickle arms in general kind of seem odd as well. Her body is capable of resisting small arms fire with only superficial damage to her "skin". I would imagine punching someone would be like hitting them with a metal bat at the least. And given the fact that bullets are breaking on her and she doesn't even move a little bit implies she has augmented strength as well, so does she really even need blades to kill a person up close?
And even if she had them for dealing with other cyborgs in mind, unless they're vibro blades or some other sci-fied up thing, they probably wouldn't be very useful in that instance.
As for the cyber psychosis, source material aside, I could easily see it being something induced as part of some sort of corporate scheme. |

| Lucky. All I had was the 2d ed book. Bought some starter Battletech box like a year later, and those are the only things I owned. Never played a single game of either. Could never convince any of my friends to do it. So, I did what I did with pretty much all my RPG manuals except D&D: read it cover to cover probably ten times. |
Well, I suffered from similar getting people to play problems, and though a couple friends were interested (the cartoon coming out about this time likely helped), my brother reclaimed the rulebooks, though I kept everything else. I later picked up my own copy of 2nd ed, but no store ever had any basic BT rulebooks. Though I wasn't in a position to really hook up with any groups playing anyways.
So basically much of my interest could only be realized in Mechwarrior 2 and later 3, until I discovered Megamek.
And 2nd ed was pretty great for a newcomer, I don't care much about the RPG, but the history of the setting and factions was terrific. None of the later RPG books have done as good a job, though they've since made a stand alone (and free as a PDF!) book for that. |

If I was in charge of a videogame company, and I heard some one say that, I would put them in charge of making a game about literally farming monsters.
Did the Monster Rancher games involve any actual ranching?
It suddenly occurs to me I know nothing about them beyond the whole sticking in random discs to get monsters thing. |

How long until a game adds a way to take into account various elements of your sreenshot, such as angle, action occurring, etc, and then slaps a DMC style rating on the screenshot?
Although I suppose people liking and sharing stuff on social doohickeys is already the same thing in essence. |

| I'm surprised anyone remembers Heavy Gear fondly enough to warrant a resurrection. |
HG is quite fondly remembered by many in the right niche, and the difficulties of getting the old games running right in new OS is a constant thorn in their side.
That niche is just not a very big one, hence why this is doing the Kickstarter thing, as well as generally the same thing that transformed Mechwarrior 5 into Mechwarrior Online, publishers just don't want to touch mech sims these days. Publishers suck.
At least this has notions of having an SP element, if they actually get enough money. I have doubts they will get enough money though. |

Can't say I'm getting any real cheesy Kung-Fu flick vibes here at all.
This does not bode well. |

I like Boogerman too.
Not really even in a "I might buy that" way though, and I think the original is plenty. |
