skateboarding is actually pretty far from a niche subculture, it might be in more rural areas, but in bigger cities it's more popular than it ever actually has been. filtering even more into the mainstream than it did in the 90's with shows like Fantasy Factory and ryan shecklers docudrama that he had on MTV and things like build and skate on H&G network (which is probably not its actual name, but an accurate summation of what the show is about) that and thanks to tumblr culture longboarding and banana boards (which are basically pointless with the invention of modern skateboards, but Tumblr) coming back into popularity
as an example, one of youtubes more watched channels the last few months has been Original Skateboards with their Longboarding Back to ____ series
this also reminds me that nobody has made a good longboarding game _________________

they're probably idiots and don't understand that to do fliptricks on a longboard depends on whether your board is set up for street or vert, and additionally has to have trucks angled right for it after the fact _________________
