new wiis can (hypothetically) play gamecube games once they've been modded, but last I checked you still need a gcn controller, the ports for which have been removed. i haven't looked it up in a few months but there is some work being done on being able to use classic controllers and wiimote+nunchuks for gcn games, but it hadn't come to fruition yet. the wii homebrew scene is pretty nice, all told. _________________

What I've read about it said that it's pretty much impossible. There's too little space for the game patching to add support for Wii peripherals. |
You're referencing Devolution, I'd guess. I'm reading the gbatemp thread right now and they don't seem to have conceded defeat on the matter as of yet. It hasn't been done yet, but it seems to be a top priority given the fact that Wii U also lack GCN ports but still has the (locked) capability of playing GCN games. For the longest time everyone said loading GCN from USB was impossible, but, um, I'm doing it right now :) _________________
