got through what i imagine is most of metal gear rising in a couple of sittings yesterday, it's fun playing a metal gear that's actually content with being a videogame
also recently played: the first couple hours of vagrant story, which is intimidating even for someone who generally adores matsuno & the original shin megami tensei - a game which really fucking needs an interface overhaul (though i understand the later ports did some work on this?) |

i try the first stratum of eo1 every few years & end up concluding i'd rather just play nocturne or something
maybe it'll stick one day but man that's an awful grind |

still more inclined to recommend psp tactics ogre over the sfc version (dog slow & the sfc audio don't do sakimoto justice)
but you know, having to use a psp is a pretty big negative & you can't exactly lose with either |

y'all might have convinced me to play the sfc version again
i think re: risk i might have played luct enough way back to no longer appreciate it as a new player would (maybe like most sb people, self included, with the souls games' difficulty)
i do really like that psp soundtrack, mind |

I bought S&S on release for the original iPad
& have still yet to play more than five minutes
In the meantime though, I finally got into Romancing Saga Minstrel Song (and by extension, kawazu, I guess): it is glorious |

honestly think x is one of the worst things i've ever played & struggle to understand why it's revered by so much of the vidcon-playing internet
especially when it's on a system that has xii, dragon quarter, nocturne... you know, the few jrpgs actually worth playing |

Guess I won't be buying a 3DS. |
you know you can turn the 3d off right
& an increasing number of games don't bother to support it in the first place post-2ds |

the forums ate my post, but per my username i consumed products:
while nocturne runs nicely on ps3 besides 2/3 specific rooms in the obelisk knocking the framerate down, digital devil saga just seems... ugh, i'd be a little annoyed if i'd paid more than £2
natural doctrine has a fucking atrocious interface but actually seems kinda interesting? |

yeah that was my initial impression, i've not played more than an hour or so yet mind
do think the game has to be celebrated for its enormous innovation re: 'anime' as a setting on the menu, even if it's not very effective |
