I've tried this today.
(1) Runs slowly on my computer
(2) Needs more (and I mean way more) Blame!

am i the only one that finds third-person perspective in "3D" games weird? like, who am i, as the observer?
in Mario 64, who is watching mario? Isn't it literally Lakitu with a camera on a fishing pole?
i guess, though, every 2D platformer has the same dynamic.
who is watching mario in Super Mario Brothers? |

Runs smoothly on my computer. Fairly entertaining. Very straightforward. Shoot, run, sneak past dudes sometimes. Cut through them for a more enjoyable experience. I don't like the mod/item system though. I find it slightly distracting and random. Didn't play for long though. I still have to improve my warframe and acquire and try others. Looks like that's gonna need some grinding though.
Iggy, I'll play you sometime. _________________

Thankfully some of those concepts from the original build of The Dark Sector survived and became a thing.

I've been playing a bit as Volt from closed beta when he was a starting frame. In-game name is bizzuh.
You start off with pretty dull equipment but after a few missions you should have enough credits for a new weapon and some mods to put in when you can fit them. Currently rocking an armor piercing burst rifle, electric pistol, and crappy ceramic sword. You have to reach the cap with your starting frame in order to unlock more unless you pay. _________________

for some reason i always take the most damage of any one in my party :/
i try to be cautious too, some people just run into the thick of it and start slashing but somehow come out unscathed or less scathed |

There are hidden stashes you can only get to in some levels by wallrunning and flipping around but most players tend to rush through missions as fast as possible. Also found out you don't need to reach the level cap to get the newer frames, you can get the starting frames from level 20-ish and up bosses, cap is 30.
Still need to figure out the friends list and clan system
Protip: defense missions give the best rewards and experience so you might wanna hang around past the first 5 waves :D

I played some in the closed/open beta but didn't have the time to stick with it. Only got to play the first 4 levels or so and didn't find it progressing fast enough to get new stuff to play with. I started with Excalibur. It was kinda cool to line up two or three grineer's with the dash slash. At first I was a bit dissapointed that there was no PVP to it since it looked like it had such cool tricks that would be fun against other players and I didn't find the first few levels all that exciting in a multiplayer setting outside of having some extra heads to divert fire from you. Now if there are some monster hunter like boss fights, I could get some hype. I might get more time to put into it after May. _________________

| There are a few interesting bosses but all the low level ones seem to be bullet sponges so far barring the giant mech Corpus boss. It sounds like DE is changing that though, with one of the newer bosses being a fast and very offensive Grineer sniper. |

made an account, under Touran
super grindy, flashy and nearly no substance or "crunch"
it has potential, but then again so do hundreds of other F2P Beta games
reminds me of Vindictus, or what little I played of that _________________ Man, I'm sorry. |

Borderlands with a better aesthetic and movement options, but horrendous grind and no storyline (plus or minus taking into account how borderlands is written) _________________ Man, I'm sorry. |

hm, i think it has a bit of "crunch" but that's a, uh, pretty non-specific criteria
it is grindy, yes, and that's probably the worst thing about it, but it helps that it is immediately fun and you can jump right in
a lot of the weird shoddy/crufty design of vindictus is thankfully missing from warframe — it really feels pretty polished already _________________

Right, I should say I don't dig how floaty and disconnected everything feels. Connecting with attacks and getting hit feels...odd. It really reminds me of the massive abruptness you would get in Brink when someone got shot down; the character just stops dead in his tracks and flops down into a "down state" which looked out of place - exactly what happens here.
The game never forces or rewards you enough to use the advanced movement mechanics which is very unfortunate, you can run up to an enemy, slide a bit, then do a flip jump over him while shooting him all the while, land and roll, then do a 360 sword attack from crouch - which is pretty cool and has just enough input from the player to make it feel nice - but you never actually have to do this junk. You don't get anything more for using these options than just running straight at the guy and slashing him, shooting until you close the gap. Hell, slap a combo meter or some junk in there and get everyone a little more involved in shooting/slashing things
Everything feels sort-of polished, it's odd. Some things are clearly finished, but other like the chat system and bits and pieces of the UI need serious work
And how polished the missions and things feel detract a bit, as you can clearly see after a few of them that this is it; the game is just those things repeated with no end point, another endless grind with no payoff
You can't even wander around a center hub and show off your gear/whatever
Honestly it just made me want to play Vanquish again _________________ Man, I'm sorry. |

this looks like something i would actually throw money at. the way i rationalize it here is that if i liked the game, if i could play it and were to enjoy it, i would consider it like 'buying the game' if i wanted to play more of it than the ftp model would allow.
which i guess is how these things work but i dunno, it makes sense here to me. _________________

I've said that I'd pay for a f2p game if they offered a "unlock everything" no-bullshit pack, so I can get a "real game" experience.
And, afaik, Tribes Ascend and Blacklight Retribution now offer this option.
Although the Blacklight pack costs 90€ when it should be, like, 30€ so fuck that too. _________________ Guayaba 2600 |

Some levels do require wallrunning and others have hidden stashes you can only get to by jumping off walls or flipping... but it's very underused. Maybe there will be a rank-up test that requires it or something, dunno. _________________

Update hit with the new weapons and levels and stuff, been playing it a bit since there was server trouble earlier. The new level chunks are pretty interesting! A lot more verticality than the regular mining colony stuff, and the new outdoors Corpus areas are cool. _________________

24 hours to try again

so do i keep any xp from missions now or am i just stalled until i can clear this bullshit? _________________

game has become so many times more enjoyable since I bought a shotgun that one shots every enemy except for heavies and figured out that sliding in midair is faster than just sprinting; it is the most hilariously stupid and videogame-y method of locomotion since bunny hopping _________________
