it's already been said that 4k is going to be video only on the PS4 and One

besides, 4k sets are still, like, $3000+. if you want 4k gaming, I hear nvidia is getting ready a guideline of beefy ass computers for 5000 GBP (which is approximately a fuckton in US monies) in the name of shaming the next-gen consoles

At AMD's event the other day they had a PC running BF4 at higher than 4K on their new single GPU. Absolutely nuts. Really hoping that Mantle is similar enough to the API in the Xbone (maybe the same?) that PC versions are no-brainers.

Mantle is neat, but now I've experienced Lightboost and I'm not jumping ship to AMD if it means I can't get sexy blur-free LCD niceness

yes, I'd rather have CRT-esque motion than prettier graphics. it's so goood~

for Lightboost, Windows, yes, 3D glasses, no, there's a hack that lets you activate it on startup automatically

it's also Nvidia only unless you get a display that can do it regardless (the Nvidia/hack-ones are Lightboost branded). it's also pointless in games unless you have a healthy framerate, but even at 80-90 fps, I find it noticeable.

I held an xbone controller today and it is a pretty big step in the wrong direction IMO. I dunno why they didn't just keep the thing basically the same. It's the only official controller that my little girl hands have ever felt was too small. The triggers are kinda wierd, the face buttons are too close together/small, and the analog sticks don't have much resistance. the d-pad is pretty nice, except that it's still too far in to be of any meaningful use.

I held a Dualshock 4.

I....need to play game with it. I'm not even sure if i like it better than the Xbone controller that I didn't like much at all. It's got small sticks, too. and despite appearing wider, I felt like my hands were closer together. and the triggers while decent, are too small.

The touch surface is pretty neat, though when I used it I felt it wasn't properly calibrated.
