"status-chasing" is the term she used, which I don't think is quite as bizarre as privileged.
though it isn't the reality, it's pretty easy to equate nfl fandom with douchey white privilege if you don't care about football. |
i would have said "if you're a completely ignorant fuckwit" but this works too
that said i don't think she's too concerned with football _________________ stream - steam - tweets

Anyone else notice how they kept (intentionally imo) conflating the words "Xbox" and "TV"? Saying things like
With the new TV experience you can X Y & Z.
Instead of "With the new Xbox, your TV can..." etc.
Add that to the fact that xbone is bringing us revolutionary new features like TV Guide and has the aesthetic of a DVR.
I dunno, vaguely reminiscent of how Saddam Hussein and 9/11 kept getting mentioned together until they became inextricably linked in people's minds. _________________ stream - steam - tweets

You know the original Xbox was named as such because of its use of Direct X, right? Man the original was such a neat system. Their were so many weird things about it, like how it was basically a dreamcast 2, because MS hired a bunch of Sega of America people, who then got Sega of Japan on board in developing for it, even though it had like no following in Japan. Also From Software did a bunch of weird shit for it, which why it amazes me there isn't more love for the big giant hunk of American silly console design. And shit like Breakdown happening.
Man I really need to talk Rudie into recording the XBox Hinge Problems episode at some point. |

My WiiU is black!
I don't know that people decide based purely on aesthetics, but there's at least some interest in color variants. My Watermelon Red N64 Funtastic series says so. And I'm still bitter they never released the Spice Orange Gamecube in the US. Rumor is that Apple will release the next iPhone in like 6 different colors.
Portables seem to love releasing new colors too. I have an emerald green PSP (from the Japanese "Carnival Colors" series where they did several colors of the PSP-3000 model), and I feel strongly that my matte red 3DS XL is superior to all other available colors. |
I miss fun colors. Pls come back gameboy color lime _________________ stream - steam - tweets

What do I do if I want to preserve my XBLA games? Buy as much as they can before they shut down XBLA? transfer them to another HD?
XBLA has a lot of great stuff that I don't wanna lose ;_; _________________ stream - steam - tweets

He's probably referring to Killzone, since Destiny is multiplat (a fact no one seems to be going out of their way to advertise). Killzone 1 was advertised as a "Halo killer" when it was first released, about a week before Halo 2 came out. _________________ stream - steam - tweets

I too was surprised to find out these people exist! Maybe we all (the "core market") have become out-of-touch dorks without realizing it. _________________ stream - steam - tweets

This is their MO in every market they're in. I don't trust them as far as I can throw an Xbox One. _________________ stream - steam - tweets

really, if you owned a 360 from 2005/6-2009 and then traded it for a PS3, you won. |
Well, except for all those useless 360 games. But other than that. _________________ stream - steam - tweets

we at the Xbox division have always been for the gamer. Everything we've done has always been for them, we have butt heads with the executives many times on what we've wanted to, some times we lost (removing the onboard processor from Kinect 1.0) and other times we've won (keeping Gears of War as an exclusive).
I will admit that online passes were not well received nor were they well implemented, but I felt given time to mature it could have turned into something worth having as a gamer much like DLC (we went from pointless horse armor to amazing season passes like Borderlands 2!).
Videogame development is a loss leader by definition
I stand by the belief that Playstation 4 is Xbox 360 part 2, while Xbox One is trying to revolutionize entertainment consumption. For people who don't want these amazing additions, like Don said we have a console for that and it's called Xbox 360. |
this has to be a troll pastebin. having an exclusive title is good for gamers how? DLC over built-in content is good for gamers how? Since when are video games (not consoles, games) a loss leader? For what? Why would a Microsoft employee term his competitor's product as a better version of his own pretty-well-received product?
everything from the phrase "amazing season passes like Borderlands 2" to the "Playstation 4 = Xbox 360+" smells fishy to me _________________ stream - steam - tweets
