So some three-ish posts in the TLOU-thread aside, there has not been written much about this game, and I am kinda surprised about that. Or my search-kung-fu isn't up-to-par anymore.
In any case, since I am currently on an electro-choc-inspired electronic shopping trip, I am looking forward to the soundtrack of RM that is supposed to be good(ish). And, of course, the game.
Someone else gettin' this? _________________

| From my experience, rather the concept art looks nice, and the game's a terrible mess. Weird lighting, visual discontinuity, and for some reason a fighting game when it could have been a pretty cool spy thing. |

That sounds better than I thought. Because you basically described an ps2-Irem (well, without-R-TYPE FINAL) game. Looking forward to this game even more now! _________________

played the game half an hour at my brothers place (btw: would have been impossible before XB1-pre-180 announcement) and I liked what I saw.
It feels weird, I am still puzzled which dub I shall use (French+subs? english?) and I haven't got the hang of the combo-system yet - but here's hoping it stays that way, since that'd come close to how Irem games felt:
Always falling short of expectations due too much ambition, but wonderful experiences nontheless. _________________

Well, I can now recommend doing that. I have finally found the time to start playing this at home and I've opted for french dub + subs.
Was a bit weird at first not understanding people mumbling, but whatever, I like the dub, oui!
And i have to admit that I love losing health in this game, since the "danger!-Health-is-low!"-blip also seems to integrate perfectly w/ the bgm. _________________

So hey, anyone playing this?
I'm up to chapter 3 now, and I have no idea what to make of the pacing of the game. Climbing up&down lots of things is nice, but I'd rather have more FOEs by now. But then I am still learning things. In any case, 2084-Paris rocks and I am looking forward to see where the game takes me next, from the pov of soon-going-to-visit-Paris me. + I also (slowly) get an idea of what the finale might be about. _________________

I feel like I'm going to have to play this at some point because everything I've heard from people who are playing it is that it's universally terrible except for the few people it clicks for and then it's awesome.
Am I one of those people? I just don't know! It's kind of discomforting. |
it's kinda like an Irem game, really.
You just cannot honestly recommend it to anyone, because you need to have a certain amount of enthusiasm to ignore issues that can be dealbreakers for most people.
It's like advising someone to buy a vintage car instead of a new one - like you'll pretty much have more problems running it, it's less safe, less powerful, hasn't got the bells'n'whistles of ipod connectivity bluetooth integration disc changers, you might not even get spare parts easily … can you seriously recommend buying such a car to anyone? Your 18 year old daughter that might break down with it at 1am in the morning?
You need to be an enthusiast that can enjoy the moments when it works - this must be enough for you to put up with the rest. Are you such a person?
Then yeah, go ahead and try it! _________________

i can also (not?) recommend getting the soundtrack on amazon.[countryspecific-domain] or ytube if you liked the game … good stuff for browsing! _________________

oh-ho. that fight.
I actually learned proper dodging in that space. This came in handy later on, but I remember being pretty fed up with these bastards … come back to it another day, that's what I did … i don't remember (hoho) whether i rearranged combos, but this might have been one of the few cases where I did … _________________
