i was sort of maybe planning on skipping this one (also i hated Drakengard 2 [though i hear 1 is the only good one?]), but now that it's out i'm sort of tempted.
not really for $50, though...unless this is definitively fun.
also, hate to ask, but have to: is it gross? |

God yes. I can make it to One's segment literally with my eyes closed and I can usually get past that, but the last section after that just moves too quickly and it feels like my button presses aren't always getting registered and the sound cues don't match my presses and no checkpoints and ugh.

Agreed on the final boss.
When I was talking about this game being a Versus Fighter. I meant any of the on the ground fights with the sisters. Suddenly you're fighting your equal and it is one on one and it is incredibly tactically interesting and thinking about fighting another human in those circumstances seems great. Suddenly the moveset being designed from that perspective it makes sense. It is really clunky in the crowd control/big baddie fights. But one on one is so great. too bad I cheesed every single one of those fights with my fists.

Haha I did the same. I got a real kick out of using the charge up kick and just waiting for them to walk into it. I feel like there should have been way more of these fights.
Yeah, on the final boss I spent most of yesterday attempting it. Can get to the final section with all 6 sisters and part of the way through it from pure muscle memory, but always fail. Ended up just watching a youtube of someone beating it and the ending :( Realized definitely upon watching the video that there's pretty much no way I'd manage the final sections without a checkpoint. As much as I hate it I still love it. Feels like videogames in a way videogames haven't in a while. |

Yes i have agreed it is not worth my life to attempt the final boss. I want to read some of the weapon stories but grinding would be miserable. So it put it on my shelf and will look at it and consider selling it.
I didnt' even use my DLC code yet!

This is a fine thinking about Drakengard 3. The only complaint is that the random mooks do have motivation and talk about that throughout the entire game in the English dub. There's always a reason they are giving themselves up to die.
Still.
Fuck that final boss.
