Is the 2006 edition following in the 2005 edition's footsteps?

oh my god! the thread has been resurrected JUST AS i begin to slide this thing into the final stages of completion
i went through and rewrote uhhhhhhhhh all of the game reviews, including the FFXII one, which ended up at 15,000 words
i reckon toups has read it
(LOL)
and the dead rising review, which i just finished a total rewrite of RIGHT THIS INSTANT
the mother 3 review will stay as was, and . . . well, i guess it's pretty much done
except for that ONE PIECE which i will rewrite tomorrow
the one which is "dedicated to kieron gillen"
sonic for PS3 / 360 does figure pretty heavily in one of the articles, by the way
uinku!
anyone willing to put out pictures, please do so!
770x170 jpeg banners are highly appreciated
the games reviewed are
dead rising
mother 3
final fantasy xii
blue dragon
gears of war
pokemon diamond / pearl
sonic the hedgehog / afterburner climax
SAINTS ROW / SUPERMAN RETURNS / VIVA PINATA
anyone willing to whip up anything slightly related or totally unrelated is more than welcome as well
yes, 770x170 headers and/or 140xTall-as-you-want sidebars
also, who made that awesome FUKUBUKURO 2006: GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION header? man, i wanted to use that, and then the thread died
please present it again, sir!! _________________

I'll put money on the GotY being Blue Dragon, based on the fact that it isn't out in the states yet. _________________ PS3 - Cryoh

Oh, yeah.
Zelda is in here, too. Not quite a complete review, though, since I didn't beat it. Though I reckon it makes plenty of good points, anyway.
Especially good points on why it's not game of the year, and why it shouldn't be game of the year.
Even though I like it a lot

I'm afraid, sir, you might not like what is said.
However. I don't talk about the game nearly as much as I talk about the TV show.
Basically, I call the TV show . . . . . . . well, I'm not going to ruin it. To tell you the truth, I consider the paragraph about the Viva Pinata TV show to be the cornerstone of the entire Fukubukuro. Definitely can't ruin it. _________________

oh shit
it's really coming
i . . . wish i could finish these articles at work today
i would be able to if this computer wasn't FUCKED UP -- it keeps completely locked up for a half-second every thirty seconds, and failing to register groups of keystrokes, and it's driving me fucking bonkers
it drove me about halfway fucking bonkers just to write this post so yeah _________________

Can I ask, since it was brought up here and I was afraid to bring it up before...
What the hell happened with IC anyway? I mean, I was away for a weekend, just minding my own business, and all of a sudden I have to re-register to occasionally post stuff again and I feel like I missed a huge thing and I changed my name back to Sklabah from Gigamach and maybe that wasn't a great idea but it seemed thematically relevant causetheforumshadgonedowntheshitterandImisseditwhathappenedanyway?!!
Not to start a fight. I just wanna know. Someone PM me and then I'll never mention it again.
Thanks.
Oh, and game of the year is Rogue Galaxy. Again. Retro-pro-actively. nothing. _________________ Old man thread killer. |

I can see Viva Pinata not really getting heaps of praise, there was a lot wrong with it. But now I'm even more interested because of the TV show.
Ha, Viva Pinata TV show is game of the year. |

Only the 2005 Fukubukuro, which is apparently mostly written on Tim's hard drive. Maybe if we ask him nicely he'll post it alongside fuku2006 for purposes of permanent record. _________________

This is what he said when I emailed him about it:
"anyway, the fukubukuro is in pieces, on my work computer, and most of
them aren't completely written. it's almost entirely about penises.
well, one penis. the penis to unite them all. it's really full of
hate. i was thinking of throwing it up on IC when the NEW fukubukuro
goes up."
So yeah. _________________

fukubukuro 2005 has been absorbed into 2006.
as it was written -- i'm not even kidding -- 2005's was basically full of just hateful venomous review-fragments. it was a salvage job, is what it is.
2006: GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION is nearly three times the length of 2004, which sounds fucking impossible, though i assure you it is not -- just please, do believe that it was written over the course of a year, and then weirdly refined, refined, refined.
at first i used gmail drafts, and then google docs. man, google docs is great. it's perfect for writing a multi-part novel-length year-end feature about videogames. _________________

Tim, you will write about Under Defeat. I don't even care if it's strictly about how you think the two pilots (Adele and Willemine) have something going on.
DC will represent. |

I just did the math on this, and it tells me that you're leaving out Four Swords Adventure, which means there's something wrong with you. And no, I don't care that it's multiplayer! That's not why I'd include it! _________________ JSNLV is frequently and intentionally wrong. |
