to tell you the truth i was thinking HMMMM WHAT IMAGES ARE THAT SIZE??? and meinpenis.com was the first thing that came to mind
i probably need to get myself checked out
but then i wanted to talk about "the meinpenis zeitgeist" because it is a fantastic album. it is by some guy who i think posts on vgmix named gwilym wogan who mostly does final fantasy remixes i think (like everyone else) but also did this. it has tracks like track 5 "nice old lady thinking about meinpenis while gardening" and then track 6 "then she realizes it's midnight and she's locked herself out." it's pretty swell. |

Sidetrack: I read someone using the word Zeitgeist tonight. It was that conservative shmuck co-creator of 24, in interview of the latest New Yorker, in an article about the show's blatantly positive portrayal of torture. This was exactly the time I was watching season one in the episode where
1)an implicating conversation is revealed to have been caught on tape
2)people have some weird locational jump-cut: one minute they're in the bedroom, the next they're entering the garage
3)a car falls off a cliff and explodes, yet the passenger is somehow thrown clear by several hundred feet, at least
4)amnesia? who the hell am i and why am i not interested in the burning car wreckage down the hill?
So I spent some time laughing, most uproariously. |

Dude, that sucks. I hope you don't have a hard time fixing that.
And, uh, didn't you retire from new games journalism FOREVER once already? Maybe I'm mistaken.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I oh so deperatly wanted to read your review of how the zeitgeist of cathair related to thinking about videogames on a train!
Or how Link's non-left-handedness in the Wii version of Zelda is a reflection of Japan's crushing sense of conformity.
jklol
I really do want to read this though, good luck with that shit. _________________ "Say, that's a nice fez!"

Wow, that sure is a lot of words, Mr. Rogers.
I read the images and their subtitles at the right. This was amusing. I look forward to your next vertical column of images with subtitles. |

if you have a microphone and recording software and would be willing to record a "podcast" consisting of choice paragraphs (see: xenosaga paragraphs and oblivion paragraphs in the finale) that would be great
i want to collect as many scottish-accented interpretations as possible and call it "the best of the fukubukuro 2006"
we could sell it on a CD _________________

Cliffy B said that he had the highest score for Super Mario Bros. in the first issue of Nintendo Power, with 9,999,999 points. But I thought that the highest possible score was 9,999,950, since the game could only count in increments of 50...? _________________ PS3 - Cryoh

Actually, I was paraphrasing him, so it was my mistake. He said he got "The highest possible score".
He knows his shit!

So, I had a chat with a friend about this...
He cant fucking understand why you dont talk about games more...When in context, he believes you to be the best fucking writer ever...but when going on about standard day to day Tokky it doesnt interest him... _________________

well, the article is quite . . . punctuated. i mean, there are articles in there that are about only games. for example, even the long "rambling" and "off-topic gibberish about the producers and their fucking wives" (quotes from emails in my inbox today) of the Final Fantasy XII and Mother 3 reviews are pretty relevant, you know.
The day to day stuff about MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE is easy to spot and skip if you want, though hey.
The truth is, at the end of the day, everything is in the context of everything.
It's weird to have two threads about this on the same board. The other thread is in "Force Feedback" yeah _________________

I just have one question, Tim. No, that's a lie; I have many questions. I will only ask one: did you really structure this thing such that the people who hate you will find what they're looking for as quickly as possible? _________________ JSNLV is frequently and intentionally wrong. |

really enjoyed the FFXII section — i actually found reading about the internal politics surrounding the game's creation much more satisfying that reading just another 'review' on a game i had already played and beaten. your thoughts on how much of matsuno we see in the finished product was something i had been wondering about myself the entire time i played it.
it's kind of sad that you can either have the creative space, or the resources, but never both. |
