Diesel probably has something like what you're looking for. Wait for 50% off or higher sales, or hit ebay.
Oh yeah, thrift stores can sometimes be amazing. Beware of "vintage" stores, though. _________________

Why? |
Yeah, why? Most of their shirts/jackets/etc. are too flashy, but they have good midrange denim, and I don't really wear shorts but from what I've seen they look fine. Plus, Mr. Taylor Bee mentioned skinny, and Diesel fits skinny pretty well.
Also, that StyleForum link is a great resource, thanks. _________________

Definitely a purse, but to each his own.
I understand the anti-Diesel comments made. Personally, I use the brand as a "midrange," but yes, most of their washes are ridiculous-looking. The jeans themselves last a fair bit longer than the average Levi's, though; at least, mine have. But yeah, dongle you sound like you've done your research, so I'm going to look into the brands you mentioned. I really don't know that much about denim beyond my admittedly limited brand selection.
Regarding $130+ on jeans: I pay for quality, style, and fit. I am very skinny, so it's pretty important that I have jeans that fit well and look good, especially considering how often I wear them. It's also pretty easy to find good deals on popular brands of denim if you A) check for sales at any b&m store or B) look around on the internet. I don't think I've ever paid more than 70 or 75 for Diesels, for example. _________________

Wpham, how do you wear your skinny jeans? Close/tight/super tight? |
Close. I'm all about comfort and a proper fit, not choking my balls.
I'm also looking for a decent pair of boots. These were recommended to me. Opinions? _________________

So I consulted with my denimotologist. He recommended this Japanese blog to see how various brands fade under extreme conditions, and mentioned Sugar Cane, Samurai, Iron Heart, and Pure Blue Jeans as go-to brands for selvage. But he's also looking into picking up a pair of these when he goes to Japan, and man, I can't help it, but I think it'd be cool to wear a wolf howling at a moon while standing on a cliff on my ass. Other than that, I'm looking into this particular pair of Samurais as an investment to replace my fading Paper Denims. _________________

Yeah, those look awful. Get a pair of Fryes engineer boots and be done with it. |
Thanks for the tip on the Frye Engineers. They look pretty damn solid. _________________
