Now that Talbain's resource has been linked (didn't know that it had moved, though), you should be set for most characters.

I see Talbain's resource has only one image of the original Phantasy Star. On my other computer I have a scan of Alisa Landale from Phantasy Star Gaiden. It's not exactly high-res, but it's better than the alternatives. It's from an official book, but I don't remember which one, and I'm not finding it in the scans at Phantasy Star Cave. ...Wait, I found it. It's from Phantasy Star Gaiden's manual. Specifically, the characters section. I must say the illustration of her in the prologue section looks even better.

I prefer digital versions over scans, too, but I wouldn't say scans are terrible.

I haven't played much of Sega's Nightshade yet, but in someone else's list of strong female characters Hibana (the main character) from that game was present.

Are you serious? I found some tasteful images of Hibana without even trying. This is definitely not gross, though I can see how the see-through parts of the outfit sexualise her.

At any rate, there are more to choose from. Surely there's at least one that isn't "gross" on that page.
