I could see that. What really ruined a lot of IA for me was the structure of missions being much longer, and including things like the unskippable turret sequences. Much of the joy in EDF 2017 for me was in replaying scenarios with "what-if" weapon lineups, and the structure of the missions certainly made that much more of a pain.
That being said, I am happy that 2025 is taking some of the positive parts of IA, definitely. |

Nintendo does a follow-up to Super Metroid in the same vein as A Link Between Worlds, for the 3DS.
Basically a remake with 3D graphics and 60fps gameplay. _________________ http://www.iamthefourth.com/ |

I'm not even actively worried it won't be good, I just don't want to form judgment at this stage (mainly because the majority of prerelease stuff had focused on multiplayer which has never been a huge draw for me) |
felix, i was trying to do the same, but everyone around me kept talking about it and i got sucked in :( |
I'm also avoiding this discussion. As for what I think will be my favorite game, probably Mount & Blade 2. _________________

Of the three games I picked last year two still aren't out and the third turned into the great Simcity disaster of 2013.
Regarding the delayed ones: still very excited for EDF 4/2025. Less excited than I was 12 months ago over Stick of Truth, due to my brother reaching South Park age which led to me actually sitting through an entire episode for the first time in about a decade. Like L.A. Gear, some things are best enjoyed through a haze of nostalgic irony.
This year I secretly hold high hopes for that Tecmo Zelda action thing because murderswords is the one genre I actually trust Tecmo to do competently. Maybe the plot will accidentally avoid being creepy because they forget Sheik and Zelda are supposed to be a single woman or something.
Looking forward to Dingo's Persona 4 Dancing all Night too. I literally have a spot for that on my shelf right between P4G and Project Diva F because I'm a huge nerd who stores games in alphabetical order. |

If it's a Warriors title, wouldn't it be handled by Koei's development teams though? There hasn't been a significant overlap in team efforts between the two despite the merger iirc.

for me, it'll propably be one of the following titles:
Watch_dogz
Drakengard 3
Ace Combat:∞
PS4 might crash the party and bring some new titles to the fight, but I am not holding my breath for that. _________________

of course, bouncer 2 announcement alone would be GOTY-material. Let's see whether the annual SQEX-Week will conincide w/ that … _________________

Oh yeah! I have high hopes for Drakengard 3, but I'm not liking the character design so far. Still, if character development is as good as it was in Drakengard then I'll be satisfied. _________________

less than two months into the year and there's a hands-down GOTY winner, everybody else can go home. Including Dark Soulser.
The Flappy Birds experience simply cannot be matched for the sheer degree of stunning insight it gives not just into video games and the industry, but also the human condition.

Some people say Titanfall is GOTY, but those people are fools if they think a non-Half-Life FPS is going to be GOTY the same year Dark Souls 2 comes out.
(I'm still not too excited about Titanfall, although it's probably great)
Destiny probably warrants a mention, but I don't think it will get to GOTY levels.
On the same note, I doubt MGS Ground Zeroes will be a GOTY. The Phantom Pain might, though. Another year.
Persona 5 looks promising,
As for the indies, I'm excited for tons of them, but if I had to choose a GOTY candidate I'm going to be boring and say The Witness. _________________ Guayaba 2600 |

I know that basically everyone on the planet thinks the best thing about CoD is the multiplayer, but the reason I liked Real Infinity Ward CoDs was the incredible campaigns, which Titanfall basically doesn't have. So I don't care about it. It makes me sad that I don't care about it. _________________ Let's Play, starring me. |

haven't you seen what they're doing
Titanfall's multiplayer is the campaign. just like how it worked so well in Brink!
Titanfall won't be GOTY, but it will probably be the best multiplayer shootman this year _________________

Evolve is going to be one of those things where the game itself is amazing, but since the meat of the game is multiplayer with a tiny player count, playing the game will be an ordeal because the internet is full of terrible people _________________

Evolve looks neat in concept. The dream of Citizen Kabuto finally realized?
The actual gameplay shown thus far fails to elicit froth in me, however.
I have now watched a couple of commented Titanfall videos and I see it can be pretty awesome. Unfortunately, it being multiplayer only means you can't really wait to pick it up on sale if you want to benefit from the larger playerbase. _________________ Guayaba 2600 |
