if the best multiperson shootman of 2014 isn't Titanfall, well, I won't know what to do. let's just hope it's more finished than BF4 was on release (ALL FUTURE DLC DELAYED, GG PREMIUM BUYERS)

also totally hoping to see more of the Xbone's and PS4's future line-up and that I will probably buy a Wii U so I can smash a bro

I have a feeling every game we're looking forward to will be delayed at least until 2015

but the actual goty will be the final release of wasteland 2

Just look at whatever has the most marketing and you have a good guess at the GOTY lists for most websites.

Seriously looking forward to Soma and No Man's Sky though I doubt they will be 2014 releases.

yeah, true, i'm probably jumping the gun on those

the last guardian is apparently a thing still being worked on, though...?!

i meant to to express t-trepidation by listing it so uncertainly

Considering I don't have any consoles more current than the Ps2/Xbox, and I don't play many PC games, I expect it to be something on the 3DS for me again.

Not really sure whats on the horizon for that system other than Bravely Default and Kirby Triple Trouble, both of which I am excited for.

I may potentially get a WiiU which could be a wild card.

man i wasn't so hot on the dks 2 beta, really. halfway through it me and luna just went back to playing dks together.

i don't like the big changes in aesthetics, particularly a lot of the areas feeling much less detailed and more scattered with obvious repetitions like those sames blades of grass that infinitely sway in the wind

i don't like the open world feeling more like skyrim with far less recognizable landmarks and clever design and much more "here's a lot of space"

i don't like the menus

i don't like fast roll seeming even more important than ever (lower equip burden means LONGER rolls AND more i-frames - god damn am i sick of grainwood flippers in dks 1 and their bazillion indeterminate-during-low-latency-fights amount of i-frames)

i don't like a lot of things really

i don't know there's been like almost nothing i like in the changes so far. really hoping i'm just being a crumbum freaking out at "oh no! NEW!," but i am really trepidatious about the game.

yeah it is sad that people aren't more hyped about this.

the last proper sandlot EDF gave me way more enjoyment than any of the Souls games. Was more difficult too.

i keep jumping back and forth between dismissing what worries me and thinking it will be great and remembering how much i disliked the beta and getting ready to be disappointed more than i ever have with a game. i just want it to come out alreadyyyyy

Yeah I'm deliberately avoiding anything DS2 related.

I'm not even actively worried it won't be good, I just don't want to form judgment at this stage (mainly because the majority of prerelease stuff had focused on multiplayer which has never been a huge draw for me)

i consider destiny a maybe, and probably could have thought to put it on my list

the art direction is slick and i hope it comes to pc, but i also worry it'll just be a pretty borderlands and that's not so exciting

Putting all my money on the dark horse candidate: Wolfenstein: The New Order.

Or Doom 4. If it even comes out next year which it very well might not.

After playing it again in local co-op mode, Insect Armageddon managed to grow on me. Sure it does many things wrong, but it also brought some good new ideas that Sandlot took hints from.

But yeah, you guys and girls will love EDF 2025, it sure is better than 2015 and Insect Armageddon.

Yeah IA did some stuff OK, but given the option, 2017 was way better. IA just dragged a lot in certain parts.

That's true, but to be fair, all entries in the series drag a lot due to repetition. That's kind of the reason I'm a little burned out on the formula by now and more inclined to appreciate Insect Armageddon's deviations, some of which I'd call more than just OK.

I envy people who never played an EDF game before and go into 2025 with a clean slate. I'd be happy if Earth Defense Force 2025 would end up being GOTY 2014 for a lot of selectbuttoners.
