I'm looking to compile a list of Japanese developed games released in English in Europe but never in America. This includes games that had a digital only release in America but got the physical treatment in Europe.

The ones I can think of are for PS3:
One Piece Pirate Warriors
One Piece Pirate Warriors 2
Way of the Samurai 4
Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers
Saint Seiya: Sanctuary Battle

Anything else? Other systems?

Tenchi Souzou as "Terranigma"

Ys Strategy (for..DS…?)

others i can't think of right now

Ikusugami for PS2.
Inazuma Eleven for Nintendo DS.
Siren 2 for PS2.
That one DS Sailor Moon game from a year or two ago that only got released in France.

I think recent Dynasty Warriros games are digital only for PS3 in the US but get physical releases in EU.

Loki, there were one or a couple of DBZ games released on SNES in Europe, but as far as I'm aware none in English. The same might apply to other anime license games. As for Ranma I don't think you're making it up exactly, it sounds like you have it confused with Street Combat.

-Alien Soldier
-Gimmick! was famously released in limited quantities in Scandinavia (as Mr. Gimmick!), but not anywhere else outside Japan making that version exceedingly rare and sought after by collectors.
-Hyper Street Fighter II had a standalone release on PS2 in Europe just as it did in Japan, but it was not released in the US until a year later as part of the SF Anniversary Collection, on PS2 and Xbox. Due to the previous release of HSF2, SFAC (and subsequently 3rd Strike) ended up Xbox-only in Europe.
-Arcana Heart 3 had a disc release on both Xbox 360 and PS3 in Europe, it was only released digitally on PSN in the US.
-I THINK the same may have been the case with Battle Fantasia and/or some other b-tier fighting game in the last couple of years.

oh yeah, all the DBZ releases i mentioned were french.

apparently, the ranma game i'm thinking of was actually released in america anyway, as ranma 1/2: hard battle. i guess i'll have to find out for myself about the names in the pal version (pointless trivia: around that time there were rumours that manga entertainment were going to start releasing the ranma 1/2 tv show in the uk, but that never happened.)

The first Kuru Kuru Kururin, GBA
Gunbird 1 and 2 pack on PS2 (released separately in NA on other systems, Mobile Light Force 1 on PS1 stripped of plot, Gunbird 2 on DC with nothing changed afaik)
Bomberman 2, DS
Deep Fear, Saturn (an NTSC English version got unofficially released but can probably only be obtained in ISO form nowadays)
Napoleon, GBA, French/Japanese
Fighting Vipers 2, DC

Unlimited Cruise 1 actually came out in America.

The fact that there was a European English version of Terranigma and they never released it on virtual console made me hate virtual console so much

There were a bunch of Dreamcast games that came out in America on other platforms, but were JP/Euro only on the DC, off the top of my head these include:
Headhunter
Shenmue 2
Rez

Doshin the Giant : Gamecube.

America got Cubivore exclusively instead. Why they didn't just release both in both regions I will never know.

Happened to just bump into this piece of information by complete happenstance, but apparently Toshinden Subaru on the PS1 did not come out in the US, but was released in Europe as Toshinden 4.

Mario & Wario (SNES)

Disaster: Day of Crisis (Wii)

Another Code R (Wii)

Those 3 in addition to a few that already got named come to my head.

Just for a little excursion, because hell, when will I ever mention that.

The Project Diva F game that came out this year only got a digital release in Europe while America got both a physical as well as a digital version.

Mega Man: Battle and Chase and Terranigma are two I can think of that I owned or played. Probably put in more time to Battle and Chase than was sane.

Whirlo/Xandra no Daibouken (SNES)
Hungry Dinosaurs/Harapeko Bakka (SNES)
Crisis Beat (PS1)
Ghoul Panic/Oh! Bakyuuun (PS1)
Virtua Cop: Elite Edition/Virtua Cop: ReBirth (PS2)
Magical Drop III + Wonderful! (PS1) - A double-pack of Magical Drop +I & III
Pop n' Pop (PS1) - The GBC port was released in the US as Yogi Bear's Great Balloon Blast
Psikyo Shooting Collections (PS2) - Gunbird 1 & 2 and Strikers 1945 1 & 2 were released as single packs in Europe, like in Japan (renamed Gunbird: Special Edition and 1945 I & II: The Arcade Games, and with memory card support removed) while the Sengoku Ace/Blade and Sol Divide/Dragon Blaze packs were split up into separate games (with memory card support intact, I think).

Metal Slug 3 and SVC: SNK Vs. Capcom Chaos were released as PS2 and Xbox games in Europe and Japan, but only as Xbox games in the US.
The King of Fighters Neowave was released only on PS2 in Europe, only on Xbox in the US, and on both in Japan.
Metal Slug 4 and 5 got individual releases on the PS2 in Europe (and 4 on the Xbox too), but were bundled together for the US on both PS2 and Xbox.

As for the Simple 2000 Series games released in Europe, here's a (possibly incomplete?) list.

there are also a bunch of non-simple series budget ps2 titles that fit in this thread and are harder to track down unless you just know.
realm of the dead, battle construction vehicles and raging blades are three of them.

Battle Fantasia didn't get a PS3 disc release in the US, IIRC. So kind of the inverse of the trend.
