Phantom Hourglass was decent but mostly forgettable. The touch controls were novel but still ultimately a gimmick. And you're better off for having never played Spirit Tracks. _________________ Just another savage day on Planet Earth. |

I disagree. Phantom Hourglass is a very nice game, and the touch controls made for a very accessible and enjoyable experience. You could just put the DS down, relax, and play it with one hand. It also can not be overstated how useful it is to scribble notes on the map.
At the very least, the Ocean King's dungeon, whether you like the concept or not, makes the game stand out. _________________ Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

Okay yes, the note-scribbling feature was the most ingenious aspect of the DS Zeldas and I sincerely wish that every game with a map could have that option.
The Ocean King's dungeon was somewhat novel I guess but I remember almost nothing about it except for the general concept. _________________ Just another savage day on Planet Earth. |

I finished Skyward Sword. The ending is dumb, though I don't see where the "omg incest" claim I read about comes from.
Plot-wise, the game is also dumb. The goddess Hylia discarded her godhood so she could reincarnate into a mortal and go back in time to strengthen the seal. This doesn't make sense. If she had to go back in time to strengthen the seal, why didn't Demise break out long ago? At first I assumed the plot was going with some kind of pre-destination theory, but the other parts of the story aren't consistent with that. The biggest problem as I see it is that when the game is over, the Gate of Time is destroyed in the past, meaning it never would have been possible to use it. _________________ Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

i always feel really left out because i played like 2 zeldas (OoT [mediocre] and LADX [pretty charming])
and someone decided long ago that zelda is the thing to care about if you're a ~gamer~ (and also if you're a ~speedrunner~) because nintendo and muh childhood
but i really don't give a tootsiefruit because i was introduced to zelda well after the age of 12 and the series leaves me feeling pretty lukewarm, so i kind of just nod and go "yes yes i see" whenever someone talks about zelda happenings
sorry about off topic rant _________________ stream - steam - tweets
