| Interesting. She's the main thread that Uncharted 2 and 3 had in common, right? After the tuff guys went on to make Last of Us, she inherited the director credit for 3 (which no one liked as much)? |

I think the line was that Hennig was mostly responsible for the great writing and directing, but that the actual game stuff was in others' hands. UC3 vs. TLOU I think puts that separation to the test. _________________ Let's Play, starring me. |

yeah. has there ever been a really good "2D brawler-platformer with fighting game mechanics" that's not some half-baked doujin thing though? I like Rock of Ages a lot but never got into Zeno Clash, so I dunno about these guys. |

well, the terminology used in the reveal video is straight up the same as Smash (forward air, neutral air), so there's your point of comparison there _________________

There are some good belt scrollers but I have trouble thinking of one that's also a platformer. Nidhogg is informally one though. _________________

That GBA Spyro game maybe? Probably the handheld Spider-Man games made by the same devs later as well. _________________

What seems to be the main rumor is that her writing was heavily and forcfully produced. In other words, she was basically told generally how things were to go as far as plotting and scenarios and she basically had to do what she could with that. A lot of it being written around gameplay/setpieces that were already planned and locked in or something.
Anyway, that's a rumor. and subsequently, the rumor continues that Uncharted 4 will be no different, so she left or was forced out, due to irreconcilable differences. |

I wouldn't be surprised. Writing seems to be an afterthought.
I know for a fact that this has happened at two other major studios (not the writers leaving part, but the fact that the scenario was basically written around rather than the writer having input into the scenario). _________________

The April 25th date for Dark Souls II PC was a true leak. Official announcement today says April 25th is the date.
*If you ever bought a Dark Souls 1 steam key from Amazon, search your email inbox. You may have at some point recieved a $5 credit towards Dark Souls II. Or you could just add it to your cart and go through checkout until you have the final order summary before confirming the order. It will show the $5 discount, if you have it.
Additionally, Amazon is right now offering another $5 digital games credit, for pre-ordering Dark Souls II PC. |

pre-dev CG mockups only + no credentials besides "some of us were somehow vaguely involved with recognizable franchises" + namedropping DMC and SoR when no one claiming inspiration from those games has ever gotten close to grasping let alone recreating what was good about them are some OK reasons |

shaq is from a town not far from here so he has a home around these parts. he likes to come to a bar where I book shows and run events, because he can smoke hookahs there. one time he came while this dude named dane broussard was playing, at a show
I booked. dane is like an extremely vulgar, more punk rock daniel johnston. anyway shaq shows up with hoops while dane is playing and I suddenly get terrified cuz I was like "omg shaq's gonna HATE this" but actually he LOVED it so much that he tweeted a short video of dane's performance. I talked to him a little bit but mostly I let him chill. he's a cool dude. _________________

man when shaq played for the cavs for a minute, he was the best dude around cleveland. he tweeted out one day to meet him at a restaurant and he would buy people dinner, and random folks just showed up and the dude bought them all food and was apparently just a fun dude to be around. he would autograph things and hide them around the city, tweeting out clues and then taking pics with whoever found them. dude just had fun up here.
i 100% believe in his videogame. |
