were you ever confused about the meaning in this casual forum conversation?
No, but if a name is consistently misspelled, it's not a simple typo, and I get annoyed. _________________ Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

Speaking of tiny textual annoyances this thread sure does still have "2014" in the title despite us almost being in 2016. I know 100 pages is the custom, but shoot, I guess it's two slow years for news/discussion :'-(
-Currently the world is "endless" or rather, it has no boundaries yet. Not sure if it will stay that way though.
-You can see up to 8 kilometers away.
-No set end goal meaning they don't put mission icons and stuff there for you find and go to. You have to find everything through natural exploration.
-There is an actual mission structure to the game, you just have to find it on your own.
-Everyone starts at a different location in the world.
-Souls-like multiplayer. You can have your world set to open so other people can join or you can invite others yourself.
-You don't have to give yourself away in multiplayer though, you can take control of an animal and try to blend in with the AI.
this sounds pretty good/interesting tbh. not sure how i'd like the "gaming" aspect, but if it's ancel, I'd give him the benefit of doubt. want to see more! _________________

My friend just showed me this. These guys are making plug and play rgb cables for the Genesis and snes (and possibly more systems in the future) so that you can get component video without having to mess about with scart cables and converters
Come on, SDTVs aren't that heavy. Unless you really must get something like a 32". _________________ Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

I just assumed it was some platinum type action game, and never investigated it further. Also it's a ps3 game only so I have to pay for it _________________
It's on 360 as well but only the dad version came out in america land.
You say that like it's a bad thing
Not trying to. Just saying it's on both systems but they're the same outside of japan that has the brother version on PS3 and dad version on 360. As I understand it the story is the complete same in both versions but I can't help but be curious how that slight change in context might make a few things come off differently. _________________
as yet unpiratable console only release I mean, unless I do some pain in the ass cracked firmware shit maybe, which there's probably no reason not to with a ps3 or 360 at this point but half the battle is finding clearly presented information on what to do in the first place _________________
Alan Wake's story was a like Stephen King's discard pile but it had some pretty tight RE4-Style combat (and it especially made good use of the fact that all your weapons were the slow-to-fire variety: bolt action rifles, shotguns, revolvers, etc.).
you can get one of the earlier entries on psn in english, but there's no dating in it. actually, i think there is some optional dating of your female classmate, but i just wanted to wear a cool jacket and beat up rivals.
i wish one of these games would have an option to play as a sukeban
in badass rumble (the one with a western release mentioned above), most of the other banchos you fight look like they're at least 20 years too old to be in high school _________________ http://lunaticobscurity.blogspot.com/ - newest post: Snezhaja Koroleva (Arcade)

I don't think I've seen a better sunset in a game.
Yeah Remedy is really good at tech for some reason. The whole bullet time thing in Max Payne 1/2 was a revelation. Actually I don't think anyone else has really done it (except FEAR maybe?). _________________ Let's Play, starring me.

New Vegas was developed not by Bethesda but by Obsidian, who were responsible for the first two Fallouts, so it's got actual competent writing and scenario design and doesn't just feel like Oblivion with guns and grimy brown/grey textures.
And most importantly, they have good writing in the context of video game design. The quest writing works with the open world design instead of the dissonance of FO3. There's no divide between pursuing the 'main quest' and pursuing whatever whims you may have, up until the very end. You are not sequestered into a linear Washington DC Dungeon whenever you want your next dose of 'story'. Indeed, right at the end you are asked to go and interact with as many factions as you can find so that they'll have an impact on the last mission of the main quest line. _________________
Bethesda putting an embargo on revealing the embargo dates for reviews should tell you everything you need to know about the quality of Fallout 4 (If none of the material released so far wasn't enough). _________________

Alan Wake wants to get away from all the high stress fame of being a successful author and enters a diner in an island town that has his cardboard standup in for some reason.
You guys ever play the second one? The plot is less weird and the game design is way, way more weird. It's almost set up like a score attack type game. _________________ Let's Play, starring me.
I tried to get into Alan Wake but all I felt was "So it's just this for twenty hours?" and stopped playing after I got far enough in to determine that the game doesn't have anything of significance to offer me.
I don't think that the combat was good, but it also drove me nuts that the over the shoulder camera was angled so that the target Alan Wake aimed at was slightly off-center all the time.
It engendered the worst possible reaction to a game: boredom _________________
