there were technical problems with getting the EU and US versions on, apparently. shit happens and you just have to deal with it as it comes as best as possible.

| I do not like the fact that P5 is coming out on PS3, but only because of how ominously noisy my PS3's hard drive has become. Lord knows if the thing will hold up for another year |

try taking it out and putting it back in. The HDD cage may have become loose and needs some tightening. |

Is P5 really dropping this winter in Japan? I find it interesting that we haven't seen anything about it.
With the endless PR-train that mainstream gaming has become now, that's kind of refreshing!

So after around 22 years the first Shin Megami Tensei is getting an official English localization. It's the uhm, iOS version though:
And unless it's been updated heavily then that means that it's literally an emulator with the GBA version and a fancy button skin. Now in a lot of aspects that port wasn't bad (had a lot of the PSOne enhancements to it) but like most SNES to GBA ports the music took a pretty drastic hit:

Well it's been a trend in the graphics and gaming industry lately to say stuff and then go quiet until very near expected release, only to surface with disappointing news.
But, apparently Namco is still playing dumb about it even though some reputable sites are running the date:

yeah they aren't the source. Just one of the sites running with what is either a leak or a hoax. I may have seen somewhere that the original source of the date was 4chan.
Meanwhile, it is less than two weeks to the console launch of Dark Souls 2 and there hasn't been any sort of update on the expected release window for the PC version, let alone a solid date.
Back in like October (and a couple of times after that, before the end of the year), From said end of March, at the latest. It would be nice if they could at least say something like "still on track for end of March. at the latest."
It gives me the impression that they still don't know what they are doing with PC development and are otherwise not confident enough to set a date. Fearing they could miss it.
*here's hoping they don't pull an AMD with their Mantle API and announce a delay two days before the maximum expected release date. |

I kind of expected this. AFAIK PC gaming isn't a thing in Japan, and it's not something you can just learn how to do at a AAA level in 2 years.
Speaking of Mantle, it'd be pretty neat if they used it. If my understanding is correct it should mean their PC graphics code should actually be closer to their console code. |

Really? I read that Eleven Arts is handling the distribution, as they've done for a bunch of other anime films recently (Evangelion, Madoka, etc.), meaning that it shouldn't be quite that limited.

that's pretty much my plan except I think I'll just buy it and sell it when the PC version comes out
mind you this requires me to actually get a disc-based game from a store which is something I haven't had to do for a while |
