I think Basara 3 bombed overseas, so I doubt Capcom will be localizing this as they haven't already announced it. The first Basara/Devil Kings itself is pretty barebones compared to the rest of the titles though. I think it was with 3, that they really started focusing on more distinctive character gimmicks and the like. I haven't played Devil Kings in forever, but I remember it lacking in stage gimmicks, which is a big part of Basara's identity nowadays too.

The one thing I like about Basara is how that forward momentum is usually pushed even in the stage design, where they're more arcade-y and linear rather than empty fields like in Musou. imo, it's a lot better for this style of game. There's no dishonest attempt at including "strategy," and the experience is more focused on espousing the genre's strengths instead.

I'm wondering if I should import 4 or not, since there's going to be an inevitable expansion. Not sure I'll actually care that much about missing the original game's content, if its mostly story modes.
