I love Amnesia and Dear Esther, but Machine for Pigs' loss of the sanity mechanic is pretty much unforgivable. Being able to look at the baddies in an Amnesia-style just makes enemy encounters into not very good stealth.

| Antichamber and The Swapper are both bad the same way Portal 2 is bad in that there's not puzzles, there's 'do everything you can with what you've unlocked currently,' and neither of them are very charming. Antichamber gets points over The Swapper because there was one puzzle that was pretty clever, and because The Swapper is a game in which you can solve puzzles before you get to them by going 'what kind of puzzles could you make with this ability?' That + the slow walking speed made it an effortless glide of ugly graphics. |

| Oh, I liked The Stanley Parable, so I don't come off as completely bitter about spending money on stuff people tell me I should like. |
