Sooo messing around with the fencer I found out You can animation cancel the side/forward boosts that certain weapons let you use, slap a shield on with a really fast reflect speed and you can move faster than everyone else in the game. Like playing with vector dashing, virtual on in my edf?!

Dropped that 50. Played for several hours with a friend last night. Had a shit load of fun. Can't even believe the frame rate whining ITT. Load times, tho.

the load times are pretty long but its like perfect for pre-mission chatting if youre playing on a sofa w/ friends. also, getting drinks real quick or whatever.

Yeah, it was pretty tolerable for couch multiplayer, but I probably won't be doing that again sooo.

Been playing as air raider, and that limpet splendor is really something. Especially on cave levels. Just light the whole thing up with bouncing particles.

oh yeah, there are like 3 songs i have heard in the game, and they all rule.

really, there is so much in the VA stuff that is great. the EDF chief dude is really funny, one mission taking like half the mission to think of a name for a bad guy, the next just seeing a guy and right away naming that enemy the Deroy. With a D. For no reason.

I think a couple of the Rangers might be dating each other, as the one dude keeps asking the other dude out to dinner, and sometimes they talk about going to "that place from last night" and such. The Wing Divers point out how silly not wearing armor is. The Fencers are super pumped about being tough as hell.

I love this game.

my lil brother and i try and kill each other while the victory screen is up and one time i sniped him dead and one of the rangers was like "Hey, have you had lunch?" or something like that. it was great. laughing for days.

Oh yeah, the AI has no idea about what to do playing as basically anyone other than the Ranger. It's pretty hilarious. But yeah, Fencers are the most Armored Core things in this game, and that rules.

I still have only barely touched the air raider.

My little brother and I have been playing a team of Fencer and Ranger. Im the Ranger. I actually really liked the Air Raider when I played him a bit when we first started playing but Im a real basic bitch so Im sticking to the most basic thang. It is so weird playing a game where Im better than he is at it, haha.

the game froze completely tonight while my brother and i were playing PVP

we were having vehicular battles w/ the air raiders and upon launching a vegalta fireghost and grape ap2 simultaneously it froze completely

Holy shit this game is WAY too fun. I can't believe it. I think I'm like 30 something missions in on hard mode? Played the entire "infiltrate the hive and kill the queen" mission with nothing but zone defender and some super powerful c4 that has x20 per reload. Just defended my team, blasted choke points, then went in covert-like to plant c4x20x2 under the ant queen for a quick victory. Meanwhile another guy was the same class as me but filled a completely different role. Dropping rocket turrets and using a limpet splendor gun for more direct offense. I'm just really impressed by the varied scenarios and equipment and how frequently I'm changing around to adapt to situations and make the most of it. Probably one of the best multiplayer experiences I've ever had. (completely depressing to solo tho)

Eh, I'm still satisfied as a solo experience, in part because of the bat-shit insane plot that keeps ramping higher and higher as you progress. I thought the robotic sea invasion was tops but then you get a similar set up on a later map that's basically a flat plain with Hectors stomping in followed by a giant wave of ants to over-run your position, while the story directly states this is happening in four other areas and things are going just as bad. There are a couple missions where you're completely alone and radio chatter implies that resources are being stretched far too thin (or in the case of the second 'infiltrate the hive' mission, getting cut off and ambushed singly).

Also helps that the thousands of guns are on the whole varied enough to try out at least once.
