Man this is what Peeve used to call scumbag pvp. I used to punish Scraping Spear dudes in Demon's. Awesome video.
Music is only a problem if you monetize. Otherwise the original IP holder can monetize your videos for their own gain. Which sucks but at least they don't take the video and your channel down. _________________ Let's Play, starring me. |

Once more a possibly very dumb question I pose here as I'm scared to check the wiki and spoil something for myself.
I just got the King's ring and the first thing I did was go back to the early forest of giants area as I remembered that big door there, which I always assumed led to that area I could see from above ages ago with what I'd describe as rather large fire lizards of some sort (the area also known for its terrible looking floor texture and flame effects. I opened the door, was stunned by how... underwhelming it was immediately past it and saw no way to the place I was thinking of.

| There is a door to said area, and it does require a key. It's very easy to overlook due to a number of factors - and no - progressing further in the game won't necessarily do anything to the point of getting you there. There are also more... Improvisational ways to get there. |

| I honestly have no idea how any of that worked lol. I respeced to just focus on optimizing for fast casting the strongest fire I could, mostly combustion, and avoided immolation - and I couldn't win shit. Logically I actually had a real combat build and should have been more successful but no. Must be a psychological element. I mean I was playing horribly as well, as you can see. (Or, to be fair, I AM horrible at PvP) |

pyromancy is pretty bad this game tbh. in an effort to get rid of the "problem" of people basing builds around them like in last game, they basically chose to nerf its speed into the ground. cast speed has very minimal effects on it, as well, unfortunately.
except sun. because the only magic attacks that are allowed to be fast in ds2 are variants on magic missile. and damn are there a lot of them.
bring back the magic swordsman of demon's please, they were actually fun and varied and fast. _________________ twit |

pyromancy is pretty decent? flame swathe is 1 slot, isn't terribly hard to land, & lets you drop 700-900 damage on someone w/ no little investment in int/fai.
lingering flame is less practical but chasing people around corners into one is v. satisfying. (note: i am bad at pvp & i'm not suggesting this is an actual Good Idea)
i like how thanks to dark/resonant weapon + simpleton's spice we're reliving the fun of demon's souls' cracked talisman + curse weapon strength/quality builds
also yessss re: that immolation video. rawest dark souls pvp video w/ bruce springsteen cover bgm out. i guess Just Being On Fire is a good mindgame technique??
somewhat related but i was reading a thing the other day about how enough vitality + equip load reducing rings + nudity makes it possible to cast iron flesh and fastroll, as iron flesh just adds 100 weight. this is pure speculation but i am suddenly interested in Flaming High Defense Nude Build. maybe spice down great magic barrier & mix that in there to flummox magic users? |

swathe is okay but it's basically not useful pvp unless the opponent chugs estus and doesn't have high adp; making combustion probably the winner if you want to play that way
demon's souls cracked cursed weapon builds never did this much damage; i should know 'cause i had one! _________________ twit |

I just tested this and it totally works. With 76 Vitality, Third Dragon Ring and Soldier's Ring +1 I'm sitting at 147.5 equip load. Those two plus Vanquisher's Seal and Ring of Blades +1 add up to 3.2 weight, and with 100 weight from Iron Flesh I end up just below 70% equip load and am able to fastroll. _________________

| How much defense does Iron Flesh give you? The wiki only describes its defense increase as "moderate". That makes this seem a pretty bad use of 76 vitality, although it might still be a fun joke build. |

Iron Flesh only lasts 20 seconds to boot so it's pretty damn impractical, yeah. Still hilarious though.
Also once again I implore everyone to invade the belltower areas, esp Belfry Sol, as a black phantom. Always amazing. _________________

yeah ds2 has loads of infinite stunlock combos right now. i pretty much give up on the multiplayer in this game for right now as it's so many flavors of not fun compared to previous games. too much waiting, too many "oops lol you died" moments, soul memory making havelyns an inevitabiliy, etc

Went through the dragon heavy areas, reached the end of the path and was surprised by how it... concluded. With my prize from there and the description I figured it'd do something with the giant trees and so far I got to try a pair of memories which I've found to be rather great. The prior areas were great as well.
I think the reason the latter ones stick out though is because in all three Souls games you always seem to come around after whatever major events that shaped the world occurred. y'know i actually like soul memory conceptually but it needs some tweaking before it's really there
i'd like a thing to prevent soul gain acquired as a phantom and from other phantoms. just a general 'no gain from multiplayer' type thing. admittedly that'd still suck for builds that rely on consumables in any way/shape/form. bleh. _________________ twit |

Got the credits roll! Last boss was initially a pain until I said to hell with it (I have no great concept on how to deal with curse) until I said to hell with it and went with an all out offense approach to see if I could destroy it before I ran out of health and estus swigs.
I know there are some post-game things you can do before new game +. tip: you can attack the final boss's curse things and they go away.
no real hints in-game for what's left other than 'go explore more'. it's a good idea to trek all over anyway. but if you want:
- if you haven't both soul traders, you have some work left to do, probably in shaded ruins.
- if you haven't found the forgotten key yet, go explore the black marsh some more. it opens doors in the majula pit, the gutter, and black marsh.
- if you haven't found the pilgrims of dark covenant, do that. have to talk to the old dude in three places: shaded ruins, black marsh, drangleic castle.
- taking a trek back to where you fought freja isn't the worst of ideas. don't forget the door on the way.
- you can fight vendrick. once you've beaten him, a door in amana will open with some stuff.
- you can fight the ancient dragon. it's not an especially good or worthwhile idea to do so, but hey, you can do it.
- if you didn't let him out, go visit the locked up guy in aldia.. while a hollow.
