|
May 20th is a mere eight days away. I just nabbed a cheap copy of Smash Bros. that I have yet to fire up. I should probably get the DLC for DQIX (how's that work anyway?). And as the only person who ever played Rock Band 3 on the Wii, I should probably pad out my library a bit more. Wasn't there an X song I missed?
Does anyone else have any doomsday checklists? _________________

Jeremy Penner (of Glorious Trainwrecks) is making efforts to backup WarioWare DIY games, which is pretty cool.
I hope I can play them via an emulator or flash cart at some point.

I know these things always die eventually, but I hate when online services get discontinued, especially so soon after a console is getting phased out _________________ Guayaba 2600 |

Has any articles or anything been written about why this is happening? I remember hearing that apparently it has to do with GameSpy shutting down its servers and Nintendo Wii/DS online relied on those. _________________

Worms Open Warfare 2 DS is arguably the most balanced worms game and had solid online multiplier.
I guess another thing to do is grab any downloadable content but the only thing I can think of are the puzzle games for professer layton.
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/gameslist/en/games-wifi.jsp Here is a list of all the games with some kind of wifi content that are going offline.
What kind of online gameplay does 100 Classic Books have and am I missing out? |

Probably more books.
Picross DS/3D and Dragon Quest IX have things that could be gotten through the wifi. _________________ Drawing & writing, mostly. |

| That can't be it, adding more books to a game called 100 classic books would be sacrilege. It would never get past nintendo's strict quality assurance tests. |

| The DQIX wifi stuff was just a crude early implementation of streetpass right? |

It had a literal streetpass with a hotel lounge that fills up with people you tagged's characters, and I think that its popularity in Japan is what prompted Nintendo to further develop the concept for the 3DS. But it also had DLC quests and an online store, but I seem to recall reading all the stuff was already on the game card and just got unlocked at timed intervals by connecting to the wifi. That may have been the case for the Professor Layton games too. The Picross games, on the other hand, had more puzzles available through wifi than could be stored on a single game card. _________________ Drawing & writing, mostly. |

This is all I want!
I'd even throw money at this to have the whole thing compiled into a rom for flash carts! _________________ http://www.iamthefourth.com/ |

| This shouldn't even be a problem. Treasure effectively solved the problem of sharing levels a whole year before Wairoware D.Y.I was released with Bangai-O. Imagine how nice it would have been to download levels without sharing friend codes. |

I just started DQIX yesterday in a panic when I realized the quests were only available pretty far into the game, but gave up when I kept getting my ass kicked four hours in at Brigadoon. Glad to see it doesn't seem to be one of the ones you need to patch the ROM for.
Last Story's multiplayer was confusing as hell, but I kind of loved it.
Not only is the RB3 store still up (as I was pretty sure it would be) but the leaderboards are too!? _________________
