it's only a rumor at this stage. they're apparently in talks but nothing actually confirmed yet.

personal opinion: don't make me use or link to google plus and i'm okay with it. so odds are i won't be okay with whatever it is they do because they just love getting g+ in everything. (honestly if google would both not mandate g+ and also localize the effects of infractions to their respective services, i'd be a-okay using everything. but that would make sense and be friendly.)

at the very least it would mean twitch could hire a real support staff instead of random people going around shutting down channels on a whim... instead we just get contentid killing everything. and horrible 'flat' page design. hooray.

hitbox is a pretty nice service but yeah it couldn't handle a tiny fraction of twitch's load.

nico live streaming is not going to win any friends over here unless they seriously change their model.

how it works:
- you need premium to stream at all.
- if you want to stream in larger than 30 minute chunks, you need to pay for it if it's at prime time.
- same goes for having quality bit rate.
- once viewers exceeds a certain level, non-premium viewers are automatically kicked out.

ha ha ha

apparently a number of musicians that have specifically not registered their content with audible magic are getting their stuff flagged. most notably dannyb and zircon.

seems that anything submitted to soundcloud is automatically included in these claims.

i'd have a lot more respect for audio related copyright claims if every middleman involved wasn't essentially acting like a bunch of thugs
