|
|
I'm trying to get a few frames for a friend for a birthday gift, and the frames are for the pack-in maps that came with Oblivion, Skyrim, and The Elder Scrolls Online. Unfortunately, I do not have physical access to the maps, and Google searching isn't coming up with the actual dimensions of the maps in question.
SO TO ANY TES FANS:
Do you have one or more of these maps? If so, would you mind please measuring the dimensions of the maps so I can know what size frames to buy?
Thank any and all for help on this. The birthday is Saturday, so I'm hoping to have this all wrapped up by then (uh, literally). _________________

Hey, I've got the Oblivion and Skyrim maps in my wardrobe, gimme a few mins.
Edit: Skyrim map is 22 1/2 inches horizontally, 17 inches vertically. Oblivion map is 21 inches horizontally, 18 vertically. Wouldn't hurt to confirm these with someone else though. In case they made them different sizes for different regions for whatever reason. |

I just have the maps that came with the Elder Scrolls boxed set thing, and they do kinda suck, but hey.
I can maybe measure them if I can find that box somewhere. |

Awesome, thanks! I know that 22" is a standard frame dimension, but I'm not sure what the other sides' dimension is. Might have to get a frame and some matte and just build the things there on the spot if they're non-standard. _________________

I have the Morrowind map on paper. It came included with the boxed edition. I don't know if you're interested in that one, since you mentioned Oblivion, Skyrim and TESO specifically. It's pretty neat. _________________

Thank you for the offer on the info! It turned out that waiting until the birthday to go shopping for the picture frames was the best idea, though. As far as standard poster sizes go, the TES posters are just a few inches shy of fitting in a 16x24 frame.
So we went out to Walmart and picked out the frames the fit best along with some cloth that matches the colors of the map to use as filler for the spots where the map doesn't touch the edges of the frame. It looks good! _________________
