Hey, party peoples! I thought we could use a thread for ACTIVE videogame Kickstarters, so we can clue each other in to them before they go away.
I'm currently backing Pyrella, which I only found out about because one of the devs asked for feedback on eyes of burning indie. It looks pretty neat!
meanwhile, Christian Nutt tweeted about Temporus today, which also looks pretty neat, although I haven't looked at it enough to decide if I want to back it.
So! What cool videogame Kickstarters do YOU know about? I'm hoping that we can limit the discussion here to active Kickstarters, so we can use this thread to strike while the iron is hot and all that. _________________

Aw shucks! Thanks luvcraft! That's very nice of you.
We're working on a Pyrella update for Tuesday-ish with levels/enemies/gameplay. That's our weakness right now is lack of "game" on display. The animations/controls in the trailer are pretty rough, but the update will help address this (also might be able to release a little demo the following week...).
I don't want to be spammy about Pyrella around here, but is it cool to link to the upcoming update/video in this thread when it goes live?
We haven't been too successful getting exposure, so any help or feedback is mega appreciated. We're also trying to get Greenlit : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=280224199

Yeah, of course. Vidcon development by an sber is always something to be exicted and proud about. _________________ Let's Play, starring me. |

Wow Pyrella looks pretty hot! I will definitely play it should it appear on one of Apple's iDevices. _________________

Good job, Deer God! Man, we have sucked at getting backers so far especially compared to projects like theirs :/ Just gotta keep hammering away with emails/forums posts/reddit/twitter and all that I guess. If y'all have any tips let me know.
Anyway, we did just release a "let's play" kinda video to shed a little more light on Pyrella's gameplay. Check it out:
I'll have to make an update soon with more details about things like magik, upgrades and the torch. As you progress, you can level up your torch strength and eventually find a spell that let's you stoke the flame at the cost of Mana.
Also, we're internally debating whether or not magik spells should drain the flame since they use the torch...maybe in Hard Mode only...
If you all have thoughts/questions, feel free to let me know! _________________ I wish I could talk in technicolour |

I just learned about Ninja Pizza Girl via this Polygon article.
I was on the fence about backing it until my five-year-old daughter made me play the demo over and over again, and then wanted to play it herself and finished it. _________________

Moon Hunters is going gangbusters, and has already doubled their original ask. I backed it because my daughter and I are always looking for local co-op games, and it looks to have a lot of cool little details that breathe life into the world.

We've just launched our very own Kickstarter for a digital CCG set in the Battle Realms universe. Check it out, won't you??

Nefarious only has 2 hours to go and still needs $6k, which is too bad because it looks pretty cool, and being from a flyover state myself I'd like to see non-coastal teams succeed.
EDIT: It made it! Hopefully the devs themselves didn't pitch in that last $6k, because that would be rough. _________________

Nice little exploratory platformer for the NES (closer to a Knytt than a Metroid). Try out the demo. It's pretty nifty. |

| Thanks for the plug. To help justify your case for posting on SB: I am giving every backer a Twine-themed Twine game. |

I made a game called Moonman. It's sort of a mix of Terraria, Spelunky and Binding of Isaac. :)

Some friends of mine are kickstarting a little fighting game. It's fun.
A bit of who they are and where they're coming from with this over here.

Kickstarter's become kind of depressing of late. More and more it seems like genuinely interesting projects can't get funded without a big name actively supporting the project. Hopefully the last day bump will help Strafe get funded. _________________

I have mostly followed board game and tabletop rpg kickstarters, but those have seemingly been successful no matter if they had a big name behind them or not. On the other hand, they've been so successful at getting funding that the shortcomings of kickstarter projects are very apparent and at this point I won't begrudge anyone withholding funding because the project is doomed to never come out or if it does come out, it'll be as much less than promised.
For instance, I backed the kickstarter for an expansion to the Resistance in order to get both that and an expansion to Coup. In the end, I managed to get fairly lucky because a lot of the kickstarter backers got cards that were recognizedly different from the base set at a glance. This meant that the expansion was unusable since both games depend on hidden information. _________________

Spooky Poo's HAPPY HELL is on Kickstarter now! This is my 3D platformer-gonzo-exploration thing. I may release a prototype/demo in the near future.
