The original Syphon Filter had smooth character animations for its time and a taser that you could set enemies on fire with by holding down the button.
The rest of the game was pretty shit but it had what at the time were considered good graphics which is what prompted me to play up to the subway level. I think there was a bomb on that level. Actually I think there may have been a bomb on every level.
Because the game was such a bomb. Kind of surprised it spawned all those sequels. Well, I guess it had what at the time were considered pretty good controls for an action game. I can't imagine it all not being horribly dated and clunky today.
But hell, it's $1. It was $40 or $50 when it was new lol. I only rented it back in the day after being impressed with a demo, though I did buy a cheap copy some years back just for the taser. Best part of the game, electrocuting people to death until they caught fire. _________________
