I don't really like this when it's just "Choose your wife among your potential wives"
Anyway Romancing SaGa 2 goes pretty in depth with it as I've heard, with three generations of characters.
Fire Emblem 4 (the first one on Snes, with HUGE maps) had the child system as a much major focus of the game than Awakening.
The game is divided between two parts; in the first part you control the parents, then THEY ALL DIE and in the second part (20ish years later) you control their children. (Plus various other crappy characters)
You can have characters marrying each other in the first part, in order to have super-children for the second part with the same skills as their parents and 1,5x their average stats or something? You can get insanely powered characters, like even better than T.G. Cid in Final Fantasy Tactics.
The children will always have the same face no matter the parent, but you get entirely different (and way weaker, with hair that's probably less long and less blue/green) people if you don't have the parents marry. |
