Forgive me but I'm necessarily sure how either "dogma" or "enforce" are appropriate terms re: the odd article about how the mores as expressed in mainstream AAA videogames are pretty backward

Irony that doesn't deconstruct but simply reinforces. "Haha, what if I did this, what would be funny right?" "But you are doing that." "Yeah, but I'm AWARE that I'm doing it, and that I shouldn't." "Isn't that worse?"

This nicely summarises my distrust of charitable readings of these games

That pyramid made me laugh so fast and hard my neck now hurts

Speaking of fetish and form here's Allen Jones

Submitted without comment beyond strong suspicion that Kamiya/Platinum are not Allen Jones

"Gamer" as a term is definitely commercially and culturally bankrupt now though right

Like no one is going to try to perpetuate it without recourse to deepest sarcasm surely

It's like all this stuff is bleeding in from some parallel dimension.

If anything this all makes me wonder: if every online community these days is essentially a kind of echo chamber then what kind of echo chamber is select button?

Has anyone really done a good job of demonstrating or even just projecting the serious harms of political correctness-creep ever

But srsly is there much to idea that some kind of sea change in what I guess I could call a social or surface or pop-cultural sphere entrenches the structural status quo rather than busts it, beyond bullshit that makes for tone arguments I mean

Old Left vs New Left etc etc

The statistical rarity of that sort of event makes it hard to really know what to do with it

But as soon as the cops pile in my first thought, given current events, was "good thing he isn't black right now"

"Mao Zedong" is too easy an answer so instead I'll go with George Orwell

Fair enough

Okay, rephrase - has anyone ever really done a good job demonstrating the serious harms of progressive politics
