Yeah, if you go out the side of the station with the mcdonalds that's not in a mall. Then turn before that mcdonalds and go along the traintrack toward the ministop and go up that street there's a place called Ace Amusement.
It's easy to miss it somehow looks more like a pachinko parlor then an arcade except of course there are ufo catchers instead of pachinko machines.
It's a pretty good arcade.
It's got the Donpachi games starting from Dai ou Jou, it's got Futari Black Label, Progear, Psyvariar, Radiant Silvergun, Battle Garegga, Raiden and some other stuff,
Fighting game selection is good too; lots of 3rd Strike cabs, Vampire Savior, Garou, KOF XIII, Tekkens and Guilty Gear stuff, ect.
Should I play Siren or Siren: Blood Curse? whats the better Siren? FYI I don't care about difficulty, most people seem to think Siren is interesting but broken to the point where playing isn't a fun times?

they are actually rather different games in a number of ways, not a simple case of an HD remake with a basic list of additions and subtractions. There are certainly more thorough remakes out there (like Sword of Mana), but it's way more than an enhanced revision. DJ went over a few of the differences in this post in the topic here at SB (which really didn't talk about the game much). Spoilers here and there.
From my personal perspective as someone who has never played either, Blood Curse seems to be considerably more enjoyable as a straightforward gaming experience, but the original game should still be consume in some way. I highly, highly recommend the archived SA Let's Play of it, which you should watch in full-screen with headphones in the listed "play order" (and occasionally looking a the relevant archive entries). It's a pretty important title in terms of both survival horror and creative storytelling.
BC is smoother overall but I don't like what was done plot-wise. Some things were remixed/messed with, two characters were merged into one. Yeah, if I could do it over, I would prefer watching a Let's Play of the original. It was not fun but was worth seeing through to the end.

I will try to remember to give a longer post when i am at my computer. They are both worthwhile experiences if you enjoy the experience of one. I actually think playing blood curse first would be beneficial. The hardest part of the siren games is not knowing how much you can game the game. Blood curse is easier in general but knowing what you can get away with in bc can be brought into the original.
The original is a lot more forboding and much larger game but you can get away with a lot more than you think you can. Play blood curse first and if you want even more siren afterwards you have the original's much much larger game. And the fucking awful british dub.
I'm trying to think of competitive games that are a) real time and b) adjustable speed. I'm only getting oldschool SFII and RTSes.... _________________ interdimensional

Mario Kart with its different CC classes is the first one that pops to mind. Sure there are tonnes of arcade games though. A lot of 2d Capcom fighters like Darkstalkers and MvC allow you to either choose game speed at the character select screen or with dip switches. _________________

aside from macros and perhaps deeper user scripting, have western-style real-time first-person party-based dungeon crawlers (WSRTFPPBDCs) featured any interesting innovations/ideas in combat since Might and Magic III (I'm guessing) introduced the ability to shoot arrows and cast spells before closing in to melee? I believe some games played around further with row positioning and such, but there have to be a number of things I'm not thinking of, and I'm especially curious if there's anything similar to Valkyrie Profile's party members mapped to face buttons.
I am completely computer illiterate but just purchased Witcher 1 from GOG. I have a macbook pro retina display circa October 2014 so I know my computer is more than capable of handling the game but its still making an awful lot of noise when I run it. Are there some settings I can change? I feel like Im taxing my computer too much when I play and I'm uncomfortable with the potential wear and tear it may cause. Would anyone from the master race care to descend from the heavens and offer some timely advice for yours truly?

I think Witcher 1 is just programmed really bad. I still can't figure out how to turn off its weird smeary effect, or what is causing it. _________________
I'm nearing completion on Final Fantasy IV (PSP). Is Interlude worth playing at all, or should I just skip it and go play After Years? (After Years had a thread on here and it sounded pretty good.)
Does anyone have thoughts on the Double Fine game Hack 'n' Slash? It's in one of those various Humble Bundles this week but I'm actively trying to not buy games for pennies just to never play them so I'd like to know if it turned out okay. _________________ http://www.audioatrocities.com/games/castlevania-sotn/clip1.mp3
There's a videogame where you communicate with weird aliens with an emoji-like glyph language. Anyone know the name? _________________ interdimensional
Does anyone have any experiences with vidoegames in bars? Notably console and/or indie games? Or events? I have free reign over my bar, and I'm thinking about introducing something gamey... _________________ interdimensional
Okay, two newish arcade cabinets that would be an absolute joy to play at a bar (though probably hells of expensive):
Played my fingers off at Magfest in January and love love loved it. My buddy actually knows a bar in South Carolina that has one of these, and it was perfect.
The other game I cannot fucking remember the exact name of. I'll post if I do. It's atari graphics, with two players trapped in the game room. A compartment opens up in the ceiling and a single gun falls into the room. In the gun is a single bullet. You both fight and wrestle for the gun, able to punch and knock it out of the other's hand if you're close enough. If you fire and miss, you have to wait for another bullet. It's incredibly fun.
I think it was called "So It's Come To This" or something like that. UGH I wish I could remember. _________________ tumblr

Does anyone know why the first two Mass Effects are on steam but apparently not the third? They were doing a franchise bundle during the last big sale but the lack of 3 was a dealbreaker.
(I have all three for the tree city but wanted them on pc for the sake of convenience. So yeah, just curious.)

This has happened quite a lot where I am, as one time events at a few bars.
One of them was focused on retro games and had things like Tetris, Super Mario Kart, Mortal Kombat, etc. They would host tournaments, have local chip tune artists doing music (in fact the first even was organised by one) and gaming themes cocktails. Awards for cosplay, etc.
Another friend hosted an indie specific night, and had things like Super Sports Friends, and other odd multiplayer games, plus some interesting solo games upstairs in the more quiet area. Playued music from indie games (Hotline Miami, Super Hexagon) and had gaming themed cocktails.
There is a place called which is a dedicated gaming bar. There are a couple arcade games downstairs, and lans upstairs. You can order food right from your computer!!!
The most recent one was a combination of retro and indie and also felt pretty half-arsed.
don't you hate when your browsing videogame news someplace and a game has some cool title but then you scroll down and the art or screens are just nonstop "niko! cousin! want to see some big anime titties!?" _________________
Obviously one day they're gonna do a 3-pack with all DLC. I'd just wait for that.
This already happened, but it didn't have all the DLC. This mythical collection will probably never happen, at least not before the games get dumped into ME4's engine for a technical remake. The suspected culprit are the bioware points that are necessary to buy DLC for the PC version, because, among other things, bioware points literally can not go on sale. They actually designed a currency system that can not offer discounts. _________________

There's a decent PS4 bundle at the local mall, but I can't decide if I really want one. I'm likely to enjoy BloodBorne, but then what's else...? Is the new Nier a true exclusive? I don't care for timed ones if stuff comes to pc eventually.
I guess there's Last Gua
