| Are any of the RPG maker games on steam worth playing instead of, as an example, tracking down a DS copy of Dragon Quest 6? |
I know the guy who made To The Moon so i will shamelessly vouch for it even though it's definitely not a DQ-like
but why steam, specifically? rpg maker's better for for freeware. i can assemble a pretty great list of RM games if you'd like

I've gotten to the point of installing it without having played it yet.
I saw that dhex (late of IC and essbee.net) has been playing it on Steam, so Ima ask him for his take thus far. |
This post is about Pillars, btw. Talked to dhex last night, he said it was "89% hotness, 11% what the fuck were you thinking". Which is pretty good, he likes it more than BG2 with the caveat that he wasn't the biggest fan of BG2. |
this is encouraging. 11% seems low enough to be mod-friendly, assuming those aren't deep, systemic problems. or voice acting. i've played a decent amount of BG2 and while i know i want to play something like it i didn't see why people were in love with its writing. and obsessing over stats which ultimately weren't very meaningful was a little soul-killing. i will try this at some point _________________
