This reminds me of dhex IMing me a few weeks back with:
"How do horrible comics like PvP get so popular?"
There is no real answer to that guys.
Also, so if an art student likes it, it can't be good? Don't art students like Van Gogh? Is he now horrible and pretentious and we should all be buying Thomas Kinkade?

This is harsh; still, the bit that led me to believe that this is a severe difference in taste was one of the podcasters talking in the comments about the first strip of Achewood and how Phillipe standing on the drum machine manual isn't funny whereas it would have been if it had been stuck in his ear or was using it for oragami paper. |

| Nah. I mean, I know these guys probably hate stuff like Dinosaur Comics as well and anytime the best of their strips has a running "gag" where if somebody reference something effiminate, a character "quips" 'Gaaaaaaayy...', well. Well. Should we be so surprised? |

I pretty much religiously avoid any Achewood-related fan stuff for precisely this reason. It's handy to remember that for anything you like, that there are thousands of people you consider stupid who like it and for anything you hate, there's probably at least a couple people you would respect who like it.
Taste is not an agenda, etc. etc. |
