i've studied this cartoon in detail over the course of the past few days and i cannot penetrate its meaning. what does it mean? is it a cry for silence? an end to laughter? a yearning to see mirth laid bare as an unessential distraction from the tragedy of the human condition?

as a point of comparison.

as an added note it seems to me that to liken anything good about any human achievement - no matter how small - to seinfeld is to mimic the sound of the human soul being degraded past the point of measure.
