| I've just got a personal page where I upload shit when I feel like it. Mostly tunez. I've also got some game previews on YouTube (though I made the video pretty late at night, so you'll have to excuse the grammatical errors). |

i went to your site and to my surprise all kinds of games i read/heard about and was interested in are listed there! like the sound-only game has quite a few times almost caused me to buy a wireless xbox controller to be able to play it. that wedgie ninja game sounded quite amusing as well. finally, what is a giant corndog hairdresser? _________________

Thanks man!
If England and Germany somehow crashed into each other and nuclear weapons rained upon the wedded mass, and if, amid the fallout snow, the populations survived and blended, completely out of touch of the rest of the world... they would speak something that sounded like Old English.
I mean, yeah, Old English eventually became modern English and modern German. But it still sounds post-apocalyptic.
And it basically IS.
Voyages of Othere and Wulfstan, in summary: WE DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS NORTH SO WE WENT NORTH AND THERE WERE SEALS. HOLY SHIT SEALS! ALSO FINNS AND THEY PAID TRIBUTE TO THE BEORMAS. ALSO WHALES.
Well, so far, anyway. _________________

Would anyone be willing to read and comment on my South Park spec script? I am submitting it to the ABC/Disney Writing Fellowship, a really awesome opportunity to be paid $50,000 to write for a year. It's a satire of the Iraq War with Cartman as Bush, Butters as Harry Reid, etc. I'm not going to post it on the web, since I'm using it to get moneys, but I'll e-mail it to anyone who PMs me.
I've already gotten feedback from a few friends, but I figure since we have a thread for whoring I might as well use it. |

my livejournal username is lifeofloki. it hasn't been updated in months, but if you search and search through all the posts, you might find some games reviews and a story about a guy killing another guy in an alleyway with his bare hands. _________________

I wasn't sure whether to add to this thread or not since I rarely post here, but I since I rarely miss a chance for self-promotion:
I got someone to write this for me. I really wish I hadn't made such a hash job of inserting the 'BBC and Google' text, though.
This is a really ugly page of press cuttings which I left off my website:
While I'm at it here's the latest thing I was asked to do, actually a design for someone's tattoo.

I like the "where freedom was born" quote about Federal Hall. I never thought of applying that to Raiden. I also like the Fatman/Raven parallel. Raven exudes a sort of nobility, if a cheesy one, where Fatman exudes an irreverent ignobility. Raven is noble, Fatman is a nihilist. It's a good reflection of the "moving away from cultural memory" trend.
The analysis also made me think about how the game's famed "weirdness" should maybe not have been so surprising. If you were trying to make a game that would shock players of MGS1 (parallel: shock Raiden), when MGS1 itself is pretty odd, it'd need to be that weird. By flagrantly breaking expectations and common sense, MGS2 creates a bit of the feeling Raiden would have had--the realization that he is not Snake, this is not Snake's mission, and everything is more complicated than he expected. This is hard to do to gamers because they're used to such absurdity (and so many loosely connected sequels), so strong methods are needed. _________________

I have a website that has my infrequently updated blog, some photographs, and a few videos.
Also, I have a Flickr account because I used to have time to travel and take photographs. Some of my sketch comedy is up at YouTube. And I have a MySpace account, as well as a Facebook page, but I think you have to search and add me to view my profile there.
There is always my work at Play Magazine,, if you're so inclined. And I just got hired by Geek Monthly, so I'll be writing for them, too. _________________ my website |

Toups, I'm hereby throwing down the accordion gauntlet.
- Here's some more music I've recorded (mostly terrible)
- I've got a "minimalist" website which contains random snatches of... stuff. Little videogame experiments, toy programming languages, drawings, essays, dumb jokes. Most of it's years old and vaguely embarassing.
- I write a couple of pages for The Gamer's Quarter every six months or so. The best thing I ever wrote is in the first issue -- "Starting From Scratch".
- I also run Glorious Trainwrecks, a site devoted to bringing back the spirit of postcardware circa 1993 -- terrible, wonderful videogames. In addition to creating larger, more polished works over the long term, we also meet up once a month to spend two hours making the weirdest shit we can with Klik & Play. This is called The Klik of the Month Klub, and you're invited!
- I do the Livejournal thing, too.
That's probably most of it.

Well, I have a page on Deviantart that I use as free space to put my graphic design work online.
Also, remember that huge thread we had last December called "So Dragon Quest 9 is being made for the DS?"
I made a book out of that thread. In InDesign, with DQ images and everything. I did it because I had little experience with the program and wanted something for my portfolio that showed my book design skill (or lack thereof). _________________ Xbox Live: Hey Zeus9

Ok, so as a couple of you may know, I'm phasing out my LJ in favor of a "real blog" of sorts. I feel like I've moved up. This will technically be my third blog (First: Gaming Journal. Second: LiveJournal. Third: Work and Play). Technically I've attempted this before which is why I have a ShaperMC.com account in the first place (see the old one here).
Anyways, it was a fun three years at LiveJournal. Keep reading my blog as I do have RSS for it an I know many of you have RSS readers.
Thank you all for putting up with me, too. I was reading some of my older posts and just wanted to say thanks for hanging in there through some terrible writing!
Also, Special thanks to AmP for making the CSS do what I tried and failed to make it do! _________________

Might want to change that # into a % in your url.
Really nice sounds there, especially the part that comes in about 1:08. Your volume seems a bit all over the map, though. |

Some of the things I lackadaisically contribute to include:
Prose Magazine, a Portland, OR literary magazine currently in its infancy. I think my title is features editor right now -- that's what my business card says at least. Supposedly, I'm going to get paid for the editing work I've done... but I doubt it.
I kept a livejournal for a little over four years, but I deleted it in july. There was too much drama up there.
I just started a new blog -- soon-to-be-website, once I get the kinks worked out -- called New Sku It's going to be about videogames, and I assume there will be no audience whatsoever for it.
But if you've ever wanted to write about videogames on a website that will attract nobody, contact me! You don't even have to be literate! I'll be happy for the attention!
I've written one 200 word article for the Portland Mercury about bar trivia that wasn't published. It wasn't very good.
Speaking of bar trivia, bar trivia I play a lot of it. Almost every Monday at the Hawthorne Hideaway, really. I run with team Willacolypse. The story behind that name is kind of long, and stupid.
I think I have a musicians' myspace page.. yes, I do!
Stendahl Syndrome
it's called I've heard that I'm not the worst musician ever, but listening to myself kind of makes me depressed as hell.
On a more serious note, I help organize a weekly support group in Beaverton for young people with bipolar disorder/dual diagnosis.
Not to sound tacky and sales pitch-y, but if you live in the Portland/Beaverton area and suffer from this gawdawful, isolating disease, PM me. |
