I hit on an apple store girl today, kind of, while my boss was buying a couple macbooks for company purposes.
At any rate, yeah.. Um. I guess I'm a mac owner now.

Recommend me some software that I MUST have.

Adium is the best aim client, right?
What about for mail?
annd... FTP?

Photo Booth is fun! And yeah, this screen is super nice. I also enjoy this keyboard. It's my first widescreen laptop.

Anyone know if I can get DiVX support in frontrow?

Kappuru you are like an American Tim.

Admium is nice. Handbrake is cool.

There's a maintenance script widget somewhere to be found which is nice.

Don't forget to download all the software updates first. It will make your life easier.

And BitsonWheels is a nice torrent client, but you can't select which files you want to download with it.

How exactly am I an american tim? Tim is whiter and more all-american than me! Also, I'm really not like him. I think you should look over at Rud13 more.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm adjusting to this quite well! And hey, PC guys, Safari came out for Windows today!

If there's one thing I really like, it's how all these mac apps have stylistic unity. Is that cocoa or whatever?

I'm going to wait until I put 2gb of RAM in here to parallels it up. If parallels even runs well. So far, my switching experience is going well. A few of my favs so far :

expose of course. I dont know how I lived without it.

Mail is a very good mail program!

Hot Corners.

Systemwide spell checking.

spotlight.

And front row looks pretty nifty, too.

I think adiumx is better than ichat, unless you want to do video things. whats your aim, tim?

i didn't get a MBP. They're too big and you could land an aircraft on them. I'm a travelling man, I need something that I can put in my ballistic foam case (2400JPY at Narita Airport and COMPLETELY worth it) and throw it in a bag and get on the next plane.

Since 1995, I have never gone more than a span of seven months without stepping on some kind of airplane. Also, I have a PC desktop for games.

But yeah! It's still fast and speedy. Widgets are nice... and tim, the weather channel widget should work for Tokyo! But you can just fire up your dokodemo issho and check the weather, right?

okay, i installed quicksilver. It's nice for app launching, but where's this powerful functionality? to me it just seems like spotlight that i use ctrl spacebar for instead of apple-spacebar.

CSSedit is well worth it. What's wrong about supporting small developers?
